Why go anywhere else? So, you're a westerner and you get off the airplane and find out its $40 and 30 miles to San Jose. Alejuela has everything you need to start your adventure or relax-cation. You exit the airport pass the orange taxis to find a red one, pay $10 and stay at Hildas! The Westin and Ramada have no grandmothers! They have no smiling Hilda who will make you a gallo pinto junkie. Yes its that good! 🙏🏾Imagine a hotel cleaned and run to your grandmother's specifications and you're home. All the tourist info and schedules you need. 1km to bus station, great AC, wifi, price and artisinal decor. Authentic pura vida! GTB Solo femme traveler approved😉

You will love love this adorable B and B. Family owned. Sparkling clean big rooms with private bath. Lovely kitchen...fruit breakfast w coffee. So very convenient to all services...central park / restaurants grocery/fresh market/banks..Alajuela is a.lovely town to explore. Wifi TV....best of all great assistance from owners Hilda and son Brian. Truly a break from usual blah places. Definately will keep this place on my list. You will too.

First of all, this is not a five-star hotel, it is bed and breakfast. I do give it five stars however because I felt like I was at home; it is a home, it's someone's home and they make it very easy for you to feel at home. The place was very clean, no-frills. You walk in and the front desk is there in the living room, then you walk past the kitchen which has food for you to eat should you want to at 2 am in the morning (feel free to contribute to the supplies). Then, you walk towards your room which is located towards the back. ||||The location is not seedy, it's just city Costa Rica. I went out around 9 pm to get some food from a local market and found one two blocks away. As a female I did not feel unsafe., This place is very close to the airport. I think we were there in 5 minutes, and yes it is free. Even though our flight was super early, the driver picked us up around 5 am and took us. I didn't get to meet Hilda, but I did meet her son and he was just a great person. ||||I was looking for a cheap place because we were only going to stay for a few hours since our flight was so early but I wished I would have stayed longer. I will definitely stay here next time I'm in San Jose. I had stayed at a 4 star across the airport the first day in Costa Rica, and I would rather stay at Hilda's. ||||Thank you and I hope the...

WORST EXPERIENCE of our lives. They ruined our last day in San Jose!!!! Do not go and stay at this place as they are liars and cheaters!||For our last day in San Jose we booked this bed and breakfast a month in advance. They replied us back that everything is ok, they provide transfer to the airport, all seemed fine.||1 day before the arrival they have messaged us that they have an overlooking and they choose another hotel for us and they will pay the difference of price. SHOCKING : they booked a horrible, dirty, disgusting hotel for us that was cheaper, with bad reviews and they LIED saying its more expensive etc. When we called them the manager (or owner ) was rude, argumentative and just couldn't handle his style.||DO NOT EVER BOOK THIS HOTEL they are...
