Cabinas Casa Del Leon — Hotel in Bahía Ballena

The Cabinas Casa del Leon is one of the best places I have stayed at in Costa Rica for the level of accommodation. Rooms are new, very spacious and clean. Every single one of them is air-conditioned. The maid comes everyday and all the towels and bed linen is changed daily which is very difficult to come across in Costa Rica. Bathrooms are deserved to be mentioned on their own - very modern, sizable, with a great water pressure and hot water both in the shower and in the sink (which is also very rare for the similar level accomodations). ||Every room has a kitchenett with a microwave, coffee machine and fridge. ||Can't forget to mention the great comfortable patio where we spent every evening enjoying a cup of tea and conversation. ||Oh yeah! And of course a swimming pool which we found to be the cleanest one in the entire country! ||Avi, the owner, is a lovely guy who is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable of the area.||If you come by car the location is very convinient to visit all of the attractions in the area (some beaches are only 5 mins drive away, Sierpe 1 hour drive, Uvita 10 mins drive, Dominical 25 mins drive away).We really recommend to check out the tour to Corcovado national park and try one of the rafting trips and definetely try to take some surfing classes that can also be provided by the owner of the place.||Would return here in a...

A fantastic cheerful welcome by Avi and his lovely dog Sky. Don't be fooled by the size of Sky, she's so sweet and shy :-)||Avi is a fantastic helpful person whose only goal is to make your stay as agreeable as possible and give you the best tips so you choose the best solutions for those who wish to go for a whale tour by example.||Besides, his knowledge of the area is a huge asset.||Each room is equipped with nice large and comfortable beds, a fridge, a coffee machine, microwave oven, toaster along with a sink, plates, mugs and glasses and everything you could need if you choose to cook yourself something as Avi has even thought of it: there's a kitchen on the patio along with a BBQ!||The clean swimming pool will allow you to rest after a long trail along the Baleinas beach which is very close to Avi's place.||A local food restaurant is just across Avi's place with cheap prices and a Chinese one is close too (which we did not try, though)||Only five minutes walking and you have access to a supermarket where you'll find everything you need to fill your bedroom fridge.||The only negative point is that we were not able to stay longer there and benefit Avi's place, as we had to move to another part of Costa Rica.||Peaceful and quiet place. Been to Costa Rica several times, but my stay at Cabinas Cass del Leon has been the best. The rooms are very spacious, very clean, well equipped with all the comforts from home, while the property maintains its Costa Rican charm. Can't say enough about the owner Avi who literally made us feel like family. He educated us on all the local adventures from beautiful waterfalls to beaches with caves to great surf spots. His local knowledge was invaluable and priceless. Uvita is also a hidden gem and well situated if you want to visit other places in Costa Rica. The town has several nice supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, banks, it has everything you need. The cleaning lady was also amazing considering my kids made a good mess everyday and everyday we came back to an impeccable room. Look forward to going back and also getting to enjoy the new pool which was being built....
