Hotel La Fortuna Rojas DAFU — Hotel in Merced

We booked one room for 3 people via agoda for 30 us dollars per night. When we arrived the nightwatch didn't know anything about our booking and made us the opportunity to stay in a room with three beds for 5 people for 50 us dollars. Despite our booking confirmation he insited on his prices. He didn't let us speak with his boss. In the end we paid 40 us dollars for a dirty, smelly room. This hotel is totally overpriced! It's a good hotel if you need to stay close to the bus terminals. Reasonably clean. Would advise to get an inner room otherwise it is very noisy when facing the street (not possible to fully close the windows), in the inner room i was able to sleep without earplugs. Hotel staff is very nice. MAIN WARNING: the area is extremely dodgy, especially from there towards 7-10 terminal. Drug addicts shouting and fighting on the street. Not for the faint...

El hotel está ubicado en Merced, de las zonas más peligrosas dentro de San José. Está ya casi al final de lo más feo pero aún así sigue siendo inseguro transitar por ahí, mucho más de noche.

La entrada es por el supercito, el joven que nos atendió fue muy amable.

Las habitaciones están bien pero... las toallas tienen un olor muy raro, el suelo estaba un poquito sucio y las sábanas no olían del todo bien.

Si te quedas aquí porque necesitas ir a la central de autobuses, son menos de 10 minutos caminando y conviene pero si planeas una estadía más larga, no lo recomiendo.
