for as many potential things that can go wrong and for as many negative things I could say, Box Correos has come through for me more times than not. At the beginning of the Pandemic, obviously there were times when it seemed like no one was doing anything. Then they decided to overhaul their website , which was a general improvement but somethings are left to the imagination as to what or why they did what they did. For instance, somehow, " failure to deliver" means it has arrived at the destination. It is true that no one EVER answers the phone. Never, never, ever expect them to answer the phone. They will however reply to email. That person however is only one who seems to pass your inquiry along to someone who may as well be in India because at that point there is sufficient buffer for none of them to respond or care or act. All this becomes apparent when something goes wrong. The worst incident for me continues to date. Taking personal responsibility I must say it stemmed from not adding my Casillero number to the shipping address of one of my purchases. Hopefully today they will finally send me a vital piece of equipment I ordered in Nov. It's been a 3 1/2 month quest.
Make sure you are meticulous in your ordering information. The system does work. Problems do happen. If that happens, don't give up, be persistent. Never buy anything like supplements or beauty products. It will go to customs holding and you will spend countless hours and three to four times what the purchase price was trying to get it. 2020-10: I used the service of BOXCORREOS for 3 years and it worked for me sufficient. Now with their new logistics partner in Miami all the tracking info is blocked. My order arrived in Miami, but from the bodega in Miami in the system it did not show when coming and arriving in Costa Rica. No message, no progress in the website status of BOXCORREOS. Horrible I thought. Always can be found a solution for any problem if they are working correctly. Tdoay, after 3 weeks I checked at my Sucursal de Cirreis in Nicoya: My 2 big boxes have been arrived. No communication but receiving from Miami worked. Finally I am happy. So far only 2 times something was robbed from my orders, not of big value. It did not arrive that day, so the next day right when they opened I called, I spoke to a lady named Magali (I hope that's right) I told her my situation, she asked for the tracking number, and she noticed that the package was set to go back to PV for some strange reason. She told me she would find out more information and call me back to my hotel (in San Jose) in 30 minutes. I thought to myself (probably not going to hear back) less than 30 minutes passed, and its her! Magali!!
