We stayed at the Villa Tournon only one night upon arriving in San Jose. The lobby is old but nice, the pool area is very nice, although also in need of freshening up. That is the end of my positive comments. My room, a twin, had the most uncomfortable, hard bed I have slept on in my life, and I am a life long camper. I was traveling with a group of 27. When I checked the rooms, several had broken fixtures and tiles. One room was a converted office, with a glass door, covered only by a thin curtain. In addition, the traffic outside was very loud and clearly audible in most rooms. That room also had the worst bathroom with no shower curtain. We were served a "boxed dinner." I had warned my group to eat at the connecting airport, which most did. Still, by our arrival time some were hungry. We were given a styrofoam box with a ham and Cheeze Wiz sandwich. It had one slice of ham. The side was a beet and potato salad. It was awful. There is nothing in the area so we could not walk to get snacks. I would say this is one of the two worst places I've...
Read moreBreakfast is terrible. A warm dishs are only omelet, poor sausage, rice and hotcakes...room number was not confirmed and no any information. The swimming pool is very small and the water is dirty. It is not maintained. No one uses it. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the room. The owner is not friendly at all. The exercise facility is abandoned and there are no treadmill.. Bicycle 3, one stepper, that's it. I will never come back. About owner. . . . The owner charged me a breakfast fee based on a document that said breakfast was not included. But I already paid for the breakfast included. The owner probably already knows. This is because the amount I paid was reasonable, including breakfast... The owner did not disclose to me the rate they received... I can't help but think that there must be a...
Read moreWe stayed the first and last night of our trip to Costa Rica. The first night the room was in poorer condition than the second night, although neither was good. The first night bed was very uncomfortable. Both rooms had a lot of street noise - big trucks. The rooms were large with table and chair area. The bathrooms were both in need of complete renovation. The buffet breakfast was average. The underground parking was creepy, dark and scary. It was, however, secured by an automatic garage door that only the staff could open and close when you needed to enter/exit. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We had a late lunch in their dining room. There was one waitress who could not speak English and no bar tender at the bar. We had to help her mix a cocktail!!! Food...
