I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week vacation in Costa rica, in Oct 2022.

Pros: -It is a nice open air theme hotel, great location on the beach and on a quiet dead end street. Great view from balcony of beach. -They arranged taxi pickup and dropoff for me before arrival, Martha was the driver, 50$USD one way (100$ total). It was about 20-30 min drive from liberia airport. Martha was very nice. -I arrived around 1230pm, and the check in desk is not open until 1pm, so i went out for lunch. I returned and checked in, paid, and went to my room. -My room was number 29 i believe, the front corner room upstairs. Its a nice sized room, with mini fridge and TV, Fan. suited my needs. -its nice that breakfast is included, they give you a card to redeem for a free breakfast. I had fresh fruit for breakfast, it was great. The server was nice. I asked one of the desk attendants how to get up the hill to the west to get a picture of the bay, and she told me i should go to the other side, the east, and there is a great spot to see Coco beach and hermosa beach at the same time. And she was right, the bike ride up there was nice and the view of the bay was amazing. -There is a guard at the door at night. -I came from Drake bay and most of my clothes were soaking wet so i had laundry done by hotel, including my travel back pack which was probilly starting to get mold. It all came back perfectly clean the next day and dry, great service. It cost me 17$ US. -I could lock my rented bicycle up in the courtyard.

Cons: -The only food at hotel is all day breakfast. -There is no hot water in hotel rooms. -The ventilation in the rooms is limited, there is 2 fans, but only 2 small slotted windows for fresh air, i ended up putting a fan up to the slots to get air moving in. -Only one english channel on TV.

Overall i liked everything about the hotel except the no hot water part. I would probably look somewhere else if i came back here, somewhere with hot water, but i would return here if i need to, other then hot water it was a nice place.

Staying at the M&M Beach House for four nights was the start of our three week visit to Costa Rica and our introduction to the wonderful people of the country. Without exception, all of the staff were friendly, accommodating, gracious, kind and helpful. I didn’t get all the names but Juan was so helpful, as was Ana, who was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We will never forget her, and will be telling the “story of Ana” and her kindness whenever we talk about our visit to Costa Rica. Due to winter weather conditions, our flights to Costa Rica were cancelled and all our reservations got very mixed up, but Ana came to the rescue and went over and above to help us – I could never express adequately how grateful we were, and remain, to her. There is a lady with a truly pure and kind and generous heart! The M&M rooms were spacious and clean and we had a fridge which was a bonus. The whole resort was spotlessly, clean, and the location, basically right on the beach, and minutes walk from town and restaurants, was great. Breakfasts (free) were great too and the shrimp quesadillas and “coffee milkshakes” were our daily “go to” and not to miss 😋 The only reason I haven’t given the hotel five stars is because we missed AC. No hot water was not a problem at all (very refreshing), but having come from a temperature at home of -40°C to the heat of Costa Rica, we needed AC to transition! But the memory that remains is of Ana, and all the other wonderful...

Only 4 stars because no ac or hot water but this is a great place to visit and stay for the price. The staff are very personable, breakfast is delicious, secure parking is nice. I would wish for an in room safe but they will store your valuables in their office safe. The patio is lovely to sit on but you need bug spray cuz the mosquitos or whatever it is that bites is a voracious species. It would be nice to have a spot in the bathroom where you could hang your beach attire to dry (another shower curtain rod or a retractable laundry cord) an ice machine or a freezer to put ice in would be lovely. There is access to the kitchen to cook for yourself but the anchor bar (bar el ancla) is right down the street and the prices are great and the service is personable (so why cook?) The pool access at their sister resort is so nice to clean up (shower) and cool off (pool) Really do you need hot water when the temp stays at 30c everyday? We spend all day baking and then cooling off. We rented their kayak for a few hours and found some good snorkeling off to the south beach area. Plus its walking distance to all the bars and a nice beach walk. Other beaches nearby are a short drive. There is lots to do in the area including zip lining, atv tours and animal sanctuary. We heard the diving was fantastic in this area too.

Just checked this afternoon on our honeymoon, we booked this hotel last minute. The price is excellent, the location can't be beat on the beach near the edge of town. The service has been exemplary. The rooms do not have AC or hot water but there are two fans in the room and lots of ventilation. Our room has two big windows directly overlooking the beach / front deck and walkway, they have glass slats open for good airflow. The room is spotless, cottage feel to it. Maybe not the most privacy as closing the blinds would block the sea breeze and view of the ocean for now, but we plan to close them once it cools down a bit when the sun goes down. Really it's a very cool unique spot and not your cookie cutter boring hotel. Great fenced in parking, good security, food looks amazing, and so far amazing experience.
