What a great find! The owner is italian, so the food is authentically Italian as well. We sat indoors, though garden seating outdoors is available. A delightful mix of the Italian music group Il Volo accompanied our dining experience. I allowed the waiter, in consultation with the owner, to select anything from the menu to surprise me. I was not disappointed. The owner was (rightfully) proud of his pasta and the tender and tasty chicken parmesan. All meals allow you to visit the antipasta/salad bar with customized dishes prepared by the chef in advance. We ordered a bottle of wine, finished with two lovely desserts, and cappuccino. We were surprised with a complimentary final shot of limoncello, or sambuca. Grappa was also available.
Go off of the main street, this place deserves more traffic. It's worth the short walk down the path from the main road to the back of the small shopping strip.
No regrets, and we look forward to returning soon. My wife and I are Costa Rica residents and live about an hour and a half away, but will make the drive again just for this restaurant!
(In reality, it was the end of a typical day's trip of shopping in Liberia, at Pequeno Mundo, Walmart, and Pricesmart. We took the scenic drive from the main role, turning at the corner of the Do It Center, first left after La Paz school, and a delightful road through scenic fields, hills/mountains, past Hermosa, then a right into Coco. So long as you pack a cooler in your trunk to keep your groceries cold, this is a nice way to end the day shopping for household supplies.)
Thanks for the pleasant experience! See...
Read moreWow—that’s all I can say. This was my first restaurant meal upon my arrival in Costa Rica (from Texas) and it was really amazing. The server was great and told us that he made the bread himself (which was outstanding). We had the gnocchi, chicken piccata, and saffron risotto with sausage. My mother said it was the best chicken piccata she ever had and she is pretty hard to please. My risotto was fabulous and my daughter really liked her gnocchi. The tiramisu was so good we got an extra piece to go. The service was impeccable. I could not recommend...
Read moreSUPERLATIVO DAVVERO.
