Amara has truly become a home from home for us. We arrived back a couple of days ago after our sixth stay at the Amara and we already miss it! We can’t wait to return next year. ||The hotel itself is beautiful, no doubt, with its’ picturesque views, amazing grounds and wonderful restaurants with mouthwatering food. But what keeps us returning year after year is the warmth we feel every time we stay here and the incredible service. We have been fortunate enough to stay in many great hotels in different destinations but for us the service, personal touches and experience we have at the Amara is second to none.||We have a 2 year old son and to say he was treated like a Prince is an understatement! The staff interact with him daily and you can see they genuinely enjoy engaging with him and seeing him every day at breakfast, by the pool and in the hotel grounds. ||There are some people to mention who have left a huge impression on us and who we feel made our holiday special and therefore would like to highlight/ mention them below. ||Maya from guest relations as always is truly incredible. Year after year she makes sure our stay is seamless and that we are well looked after. We have also enjoyed getting to know her over the past years. She is phenomenal at her job and I can’t imagine the Amara without her! Thank you for making sure our stay is wonderful as always. ||Some of the staff by the pool have been a huge part of our holiday once again. We genuinely loved seeing them every day and speaking to them as they looked after us. They are extremely professional and great at their jobs but also with us personally and especially amazing with our son! I can’t thank them enough! It’s the little personal touches we experienced from them that make the Amara feel like a second home to us. ||As always Chadi is a huge asset. You can see that he is excellent at his job and ensures everything runs so smoothly because of him. Thank you Chadi for looking after us all so well year after year and the smiles you brought to our son’s face, we really appreciate everything! ||Anastasia, Valantis and Christina have been truly amazing. They also are huge assets to this hotel and fantastic at their jobs. Thank you for looking after us and for all the entertainment and fun you brought to our holiday with our son. We will miss you and thank you for making our holiday so special. ||Rumen is the best lifeguard I have ever come across! Every time my son saw him he would smile and loved engaging with him! He is more than just a lifeguard. It’s comforting to have someone with his experience looking after the pool but also great to have a people’s person looking after all of the families and making the children smile every day. He even said he would help my son with swimming next year which we look forward to! ||Sifis is a fantastic food and beverage manager, we enjoyed seeing him and having chats with him here and there! The breakfast staff also looked after us very well each morning, Thank you very much to Andreas, Lucy and Spiros in particular. ||Gregory the bar manager is a new addition to the hotel since our stay last year. It was always lovely coming across him by the pool and in the lobby bar and you can see his professionalism and experience is a great addition to the team. Thank you Katerina as well for looking after us in the lobby bar and being so lovely whenever we saw you! ||Mario used to look after us at breakfast but has now changed his role and is based in the lobby and is greeting the guests. As much as we miss him at breakfast every morning, we are happy to see him thrive in his new role. He has been at the Amara from the beginning and I can’t think of anyone better to greet the guests. Thank you for everything Mario! ||The concierge staff have been incredible as always in assisting us with our reservations. They are an extremely efficient and polite team. It was lovely to speak with Juliana on a few occasions in person too.||To conclude, we had a wonderful holiday as always. Amara has become a very special place for our family and we look forward to...
Read moreTo celebrate my mother’s cancer free anniversary, I decided to take her to Cyprus. I wanted to take her to the best resort in Limassol, which is inarguably the Amara. As you arrive in the lobby, you’re greeted with ocean views and quiet luxury. Christos (sorry if spelling is off!) checked us in - he was incredibly kind and offered great suggestions for local activities. As he showed us the room, we were delightfully surprised to find that we had been upgraded with one of the hotel’s best views - the rooms ending in XX18 offer killer ocean views from the balcony. The hotel also surprised my mother with champagne, a gorgeous fruit plate, and local dried fruit.
One of the biggest standouts was how clean the property is, and that isn’t easy at a beach resort. The rooms are spotless; we even saw staff members power washing balconies.
There are multiple pools and ample lounge chairs, though the pool chairs get snapped up quicker than the lawn or beach chairs. I highly recommend checking out the spa. From the steam room to the sauna to the icy shower to the private outdoor infinity pool, you could easily spend a day out of the sun there - Sylvia is a terrific esthetician.
Compared to other five star properties we’ve stayed at around the world, the gym isn’t the largest—but there is ample equipment & even a Pilates room! I took a private class with Michaela, and she was terrific. We went to the gym around 10AM each day, and it wasn’t very busy. No complaints!
Our biggest “issue” was the lack of restaurant options. My mom is vegan and gluten free, and I follow a similar diet. We tried Locatelli, Matsuhisa, Nerea (we sat down, didn’t like the menu, and chose to leave), in-room dining, and the more casual restaurant on the beach, Plus Sea. Beef Bar looked like it had a great vibe, but there were not any options for us. Our first evening was spent at Locatelli. We felt like VIPs, and had one of the most delicious meals of our lives there. We thought every meal would be up to that standard. However, the remaining restaurants accommodated but with some difficulties / back-and-forth. It was a bit disappointing and frustrating. Perhaps I didn’t give enough advance notice, but a few servers were entirely confused with our diets. It was just hard to understand the stark difference between Locatelli and the others. The other restaurants need to be on the level that Locatelli is on. Nonetheless, all of the food was delicious, though sometimes it became quite stressful ordering. Not the most ideal restaurant experience on vacation.
I’ll end the note on a high - the service. We had the pleasure of meeting Artemis at the front desk, who allocated us the outstanding ocean view room. He accommodated with ease when we had a late flight upon our check-out. The valet was quick, kind, and thoughtful; they gave great restaurant recommendations too. Alexandrios (apologies if spelling is wrong) was one of our favorites at valet. Both of our experiences at the concierge were delightful and helpful. We went all around the island: east coast, west coast, mountains, and Limassol itself. Izabella, who replenishes the snack/drink/mini bar, had such a cheerful disposition.
All in all, we felt like very important guests, even though we were only there four days. The grounds are exceptional, the people are lovely, and you’ll be stepping into a luxury resort that wants to take...

From the moment you arrive at the hotel you feel like you are on holiday. ||We recently had our 6th stay at the hotel and cannot fault the experience or amenities that the hotel offers. The experience is made perfect by the staff who work so hard to deliver the best service for all guests and take so much pride in what they do. ||The room is always immaculate and feels like a home away from home. The hotel has been finished to the highest standard and has all of the amenities you could wish for including LeLabo toiletries - nothing is too much trouble and all areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean.||A few special mentions:||Maya: our stays at the hotel would simply not be the same without you - from helping with last minute requests to providing us with great personal recommendations, Maya is a true gem and the Amara are so lucky to have her. Giuliana quickly understands what you like and makes great recommendations for both restaurants as well as beaches to visit that align with your preferences. Chris is personable and warm and makes an excellent first impression when checking in to the hotel. |Chadi: the best father/son duo at the Amara! They work tirelessly to help and it does not go un-noticed. They greet us by name and we are always so impressed by the service they provide, day and night. ||The restaurants at the hotel are exceptional, particularly Matsuhisa which we would consider the best Nobu we have tried. The hotel breakfast is also great, with an endless selection including fresh juices and eggs to order. ||The gym and spa areas are the best we have experienced internationally - the gym is equipped with best in class Technogym equipment and they even have a Merrithew pilates reformer in it’s own studio. There are also cold towels and water bottles available. ||The Amara truly deliver the best experience we could ever wish for and we have created so many amazing memories there. The Amara is the best hotel in Europe and we could not wish for more during our holidays there.
