Was excited to visit this restaurant for lunch with my partner as it is overlooking the beach, sadly our experience with the service was terrible leaving us feeling uncomfortable.
We were met by a nice lady at the front who was taking us to a table, as we were walking the older Cypriot waiter starting calling her name multiple times and talking to her in a demeaning manner, he kept saying that it’s his job to take us to the table. Clearly trying to show some power over this young woman that he tried to embarrass in front of us. We asked him if we could sit by the edge of the platform to look at the sea since the table wasn’t reserved but he refused because he wanted a bigger group to sit there instead of us. I had visited this restaurant before and was never refused that table.
Moving on, our food arrived and I asked for extra lemon and he kept asking me why, when I said that it was for the Calamari he said that it already has lemon in it. I’ve never experienced this before, having to explain why I want extra lemon and having to try to convince a waiter to give me lemons!
I ordered a Paella, sadly it was dry on the edges and mushy in the centre, the fish inside was completely dry, the mussels were inedible from how dry they were, the peas were also dried out and the flavor was not good either, it was a sad attempt at a Paella. I pointed these issues out to that same waiter in a very nice manner as I was honestly just shocked at the quality of the food. For such prices you expect something very good.
He started to argue with me, telling me that I do not know what a Paella is and that I have never been to Spain and that the chef is from there. Kept arguing that I have never eaten it before and I don’t know what I am saying.
All this is wrong and in accurate and I have no idea why he thought it was right to assume such things. The fact that I had to sit there and debate this man and explain to him all the trips to Spain I’ve had is ridiculous. A customer should never be forced to argue with a waiter on who has travelled more and eaten more food. When he took the plate away he said that I am the first person to ever complain about the Paella. Constantly trying to school me and making me feel uncomfortable.
I will never visit again that is for sure, as it is obvious that they do not respect their female clients or staff. Our lunch date turned out to be horrible.
On a positive note, there was a lovely Greek lady in the end that had a short and sweet...
Read moreSo, i went with my boyfriend last summer 30 - 40 minutes before the closure of the restaurant. We asked if the kitchen was still open and the waiter there informed us that it was still open but we just couldnt order some dishes which required time to be cooked. So we ordered a pasta for my boyfriend and a Caesar salad for myself! My salad was very poor, it came with 2 very small dry chicken fillets, but very dry! 3 cherry tomatoes and no bread at all. The size was normal to small and the price was over the normal for such a salad i had received! The pasta was ok not amazed but ok. I called a waitress to ask her to change my dish or to have some other pieces of chicken added plus a little bit of bread and she said the chef left the building ! It was very weird cause she didnt know what to do , no manager there to take charge and she just said to us we cannot do anything Im so sorry! I asked her to give me her manager number so that I call him next day and when we asked the bill at the cashier, I was expecting her at least to apologize when giving the bill but on the contrary the cashier (who was watching the scene) didnt say a word and she asked me to pay. I refused cause i didnt like the attitude , the service and the food, she accepted it at least! My boyfriend paid for his dish. I called the manager the next day and I stated all these facts. Poor service, poor food and it didn't worth the high prices in general on the menu! He apologized for everything and he offered me a free meal whenever I want. The reason why i write the review now and not when i had the experience is because i regret not writing it back then cause i believe we have to always share the experiences we had good or bad to improve the results of our hospitality. This team had never or had a poor training regard their job. The management doesnt care much about this place and its too bad cause it is a beautiful...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing experience at the Sands Beach Club.
The food was incredible with huge portion sizes – make sure you’re hungry, especially if you’re getting the pork chop. It was massive, packed with flavour, and had a perfect chargrilled finish. The salmon was also beautifully cooked and everything looked as good as it tasted.
We were greeted with prosecco (though a gust of wind meant one ended up on Mum – the staff were so kind, apologetic, and we all had a good laugh about it). Service was top-notch – super attentive, always topping up our water and wine.
Dessert was a chocoholic’s dream – though we barely managed to finish it!
Honestly, we cannot fault a single thing. If you're visiting and want a spot that delivers both atmosphere and outstanding food, the...
