Ok, this is not a 1/5 hotel, but clearly not a 4.x/5. I would say it is more like a 2-3, because: ALL the towels are dirty and they smell like vinegar. We had 3 apartments, 6 people. All of them had the same problem. The towels are dirty, and instead of the staff cleaning them at a high temperature (like 90 degrees) and with clor or so, they wash them with vinegar. All the towels smell like vinegar. If someone is wondering why we didn't ask on the reception for other towels, one of our rooms asked for that and they received changed towels, but still dirty. There is exactly the same thing also with the beddings. They were dirty and smelled bad. Now.. they are trying to fix this by changing the towels daily (a thing which i personally don't like, because I am not used to this. I want them to change the towels and do the bedding when i want that to happen (like hanging the "please make up my room" door handle), not on a daily basis. They threw my boxers (pijamas) on the ground in the second day, because they made the bed. Why? I don't know, no one asked them to do so). The pool is ok and cleaned, but the pool hours are a joke. The pool is opened only from 10 AM to 6 PM. Why? I have no idea. It would have been great to stay at the pool for example after coming back from the beach, while the girls were getting ready, to have a beer with your friends and stay in the water. But they close it at 6 PM. And no, they don't have any lifeguard or anything also during the day, that is not the case. And also, this is Ayia Napa, here the parties and noise is loud until way over midnight, so it can't be a case of "we don't want any noise after 6 PM", which would also be a st.pid idea, since, again 6 PM. So, if you go to Ayia Napa for the beaches during the day, the pool is ABSOLUTELY useless. For our stay (7 nights), we basically used the pool exactly once, at the day we arrived, since we arrived at about 3 PM and didn't want to go to a beach that day.
Other small problems, but still worth mentioning: the walls are dirty to say at least the sofa in the apartment had stains all over it (i don't wanna even know where those stains came from..) the "kitchen" and kitchen ustensiles were very dirty, unwashed knifes and forks.. (but we didn't chose the apartment for the kitchen, we chose it because of the extra space, and the couch). OK, it says on the wall to wash your dishes and ustensiles, but that doesn't mean that if the previous client didn't do that, you leave them in the same conditions for the new customers. This is outrageous.
Don't choose this unless you want a bad experience.
Later edit to answer the response added by the owner, because their response is not ok:
"All towels and sheets are cleaned by professional laundry company. It seems you trying to find something in whatever solution we gave. For example we offered you to changed daily the sheet and towels with brand new. and still you did not like this" – This is 100% fake info. The towels you gave to one of the rooms after they requested new ones were again stained and smelled like vinegar ⇒ definitely not new. – If all the towels and sheets are truly cleaned by a professional laundry company (which I highly doubt), then I strongly suggest you change that company. It seems most of the rest of your response was about the pool. I don’t want to “meet your lifeguard,” but I also didn’t see him/her once while I was at the pool. I only mentioned the term in relation to the fact that: – you don’t have a lifeguard present during the usual business hours (10:00–18:00), and – because of that, you have to close the pool when their schedule ends. That was the only reason. And if I remember correctly, there’s even a sign by the pool stating that you don’t have lifeguards and that it’s everyone’s own responsibility when they are near the pool. As a last comment, what i want to specify is that i've spent about a quarter of my life through hotels in the last 3 years (because of my job) and this is by far my worst experience — at least in terms of...
Read moreThe only positive thing that I will say about this resort is that for the most part, the staff that work here especially at the bar have been really friendly and my partner and I did not have any issues with them.
Firstly, the resort needs to improve security measures. Since Ayia Napa is a party destination, a lot of younger people stay here and Evabelle staff don't have enough measures in place to control this, with only one security member on site. Security uses a rape alarm at night to try to "control the situation" which woke me up every time as it is loud. The other guests were banging on people's doors at night, screaming, shouting, throwing used balloon canisters all over the place including over onto our balcony meaning you can't get a night's rest. Every time we complained at reception, not much has been done about it, we even got told "that's just what Brits do". Also, if you read reviews where the hotel replies, you will notice a pattern of them only trying to cover themselves and blame misfortunes on the guests which is highly unprofessional. Never do they try to apologise for the poor quality of the resort and stay, which is normally what you'd expect. The negative reviews tend to be similar complaints made by multiple different guests over years, and clearly nothing has been done to improve the resort.
Moreover, the 4 apartment rooms that our group of 8 stayed in were all infested with black mould, which is toxic and a health hazard. 7 of 8 got ill during our stay. The mould has spread onto some of our clothes and bags which resulted in us having to throw them away. The reception has tried to blame this on us not buying A/C (which is probably infested with mould also). We have done everything we could to avoid this, leaving our balcony door open as often as possible, drying the floor which was wet constantly (which is a slip hazard) and leaving clothes outside to dry. We asked to speak to a manager, unfortunately they do not come on site- which is a red flag. We then requested to change rooms, and noticed that the staff knew exactly what to do to cover up the mould as we saw that they aired our old room out for the day, moved the furniture to the middle of the room and scrubbed down the walls. Conveniently, they also got painters in on the day we left.
The resort has a 3 stars rating, probably purely because of the amenities it has on site, none of which are worth the rating due to the low standards. The beds are bearable, but as a person with back problems after a few nights, my muscles became stiff and I started hurting all over. The pillows are too hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. You are given either a thin sheet to sleep under, or a thick blanket which looks like it doesn't get washed often. You get your towels changed every 3 days, probably due to shortage. The cleaners mop the floor every day, which never dries and this just adds humidity into the rooms especially the ones on the ground floor which face the pool and close to the sea from the side of the balconies.
Finally, the food that comes included in the holiday package (breakfast and dinner) is absolutely not worth it, as there is a very limited choice. You are better off walking along the main road and choosing any of the restaurants nearby, as they do fresh food. The dinner buffet rotates between two set menus. Breakfast options are limited as well, there is a random selection of foods that normally wouldn’t be eaten for breakfast, such as various vegetables that were available for dinner the night before. We ended up going out for food a lot because the food at the buffet was also either soggy, overcooked or tasteless and quite frankly we weren’t impressed with what was available. In the mornings, there is a drinks machine that does Nescafe drinks, and a water and juice tap. In the evening, there are no drinks options (no water, no cold drinks, no hot drinks). On the other hand, the food bought at the Evabelle Bar has been of much...
Read moreWhere do I start. If I could give this no starts I would, I wouldn’t recommend unless you enjoy being woken up at 7am by banging in the corridor followed by banging on ur door and a cleaner letting her self in screaming even if you have no cloths on. Whilst you are stood unclothed and you say you don’t want ur room cleaned she will begin cleaning anyway so don’t waist ur time telling her you don’t want it cleaned. Despite that she will barely clean anything anyway. Once you get into the hotel and decide to have a sleep you will be met by an ants nest behind ur bed and bed bugs bitting you all night making the rest of ur holiday Lovley as you’ll be itching all the time. On ur 3rd/4 day you will then be accused of being sick over ur balcony and given a warning , but once we had been giving this warning we then looked outside on our balcony and the sick had come from the one above ours. The staff are very rude and make you feel unwelcomed and constantly giving bad looks at you all holiday. The room obviously doesn’t get cleaned properly between stays as there was hair and dirt everywhere including a gas canister and a sock with stains all over it🤔. Don’t stay here spend extra bit of money and go else where. Just to add after your reply there was not vomit everywhere, there was a small amount on the floor which I will admit to however it was mostly in a plastic bag next to it. Never did I say that that the maid knocked at 7am I said there was banging in the corridor since then, the maid knocked at 10 am and after being told we did not want our room cleaning as we where in bed she left and came back knocked again we told her not to enter and despite our wishes she entered anyway and began walking round our room being very rude while I was stood completely unclothed which was very uncomfortable as you can imagine. Despite being told to leave she stayed and continued to wander the room so unprofessional. and when she finally left we cleaned the entire room (which I photographed and can add if you wish with the times) so she didn’t have to clean our mess only take our rubbish bags. Your hotel is 5 minutes away from the strip so I also feel vomit from drinking is some what expected? Neither of us were sick off our balcony at any point so this is a complete false accusation and very unfair as I would be the first to apologise if this did happen. The fact your hotel doesn’t have do not disturb signs is strange to me, not everyone wants to be disturbed at 10 am every morning especially if they have been out the night before. The only thing that was ‘everywhere’ in our room was dust, ants, hair and other items not to mention the day after leaving your hotel consequently I was very ill probably something to do with your awful hygiene levels. So if you don’t want to have accusations thrown at you and sleep in absolute grime for a week just book a different hotel and pay the...
