Staff: 4/5 The staff at this hotel were really friendly and helpful, especially the two male receptionists for the morning and night time shifts. Two great people who speak to you properly and are always there to help. However, the staff member for the dinner time who is supposed to check you names before you eat, at first seemed friendly until the last day when he made a mistake and tried blaming us, but the manager sorted out the issue and stated he was at fault. So, Just be cautious that he his only putting on an act.
Food: 3.5/5 Our package was a half board one, which included Breakfast and Dinner. The breakfast was pretty standard to be fair nothing special, it consisted of toast, cereal, sausages, tomatoes, eggs. Pretty much basic breakfast, but it wasn't the best to be fair. The dinner was good in terms of, one it was a buffet and two each day had a different menu, so it wasn't the same food. What I mean by this is one day it was Greek night, Italian night etc. The food was a mix of some foods were good and some foods didn't taste that nice. But, the desserts for the different nights were probably the best thing. However, you DON'T get any DRINKS with dinner, so be aware you will have to bring your own drinks or buy from the bar. Although the hotels food wasn't the best, they have a restaurant called Robinson's which was at the back of the hotel, they had really nice food, but like most restaurants in Ayia Napa they are really slow to bring out the food, nobody else was in the shop and we still waited Half an Hour for a hot dog.
Rooms: 4/5 We had three rooms, which to be fair were pretty good. The bathroom was a good size and they had a window inside them which brings in more natural light and fresh air. The beds were pretty firm though, not really that soft so it can go two ways you either don't mind it or it may be a problem. The room had two TV's in them, which to be fair we didn't use. It had a hairdryer, but no iron which have to pay for. It's got a small cooker and a small kitchen area which was good. However, although the safe was free, we had so many problems with it, from it not opening and the battery dying out. So, it's up to you if you want the hassle to be waiting on the manager everyday to open the safe up. We all had the top floor which, had a nice balcony and a OK view of the sea. The only really issue was that the rooms were pretty outdated, like it need a new fresh paint job and the lighting was really dim, so there wasn't much lighting exposure.
Facilities: 4/5 The facilities in the hotel were pretty good, nothing too special to be fair. It had a gym room, which was pretty basic, a Sauna room which you have to pay for, a message room same pay for, a outdoor swimming pool, and a games area which has a pool table that is 1 euro a game, a couple of arcade game machines and a free table tennis and free tennis court. The hotel also, offered free car parking.
Location: 4.8/5 The location is really in a good spot of Ayia Napa. The strip where the bar and clubs are is literally like a 2-5 minute walk and the Restaurant/Shops is like a 2 minute walk to get to. So, you are pretty much close to everything and to be fair Ayia Napa is not that big. There's a Quad/Buggies rental on the same road, where all 8 of us rented our Quads/Buggies from, However although he done a good deal for us, there was loads of problems with everyone's vehicles. So, if you were thinking of renting them probably best bet find someone else and negotiate a price, cause the pricing ISN'T FIXED, so don't get bumped. Nissi beach wasn't too far by quads maybe 5 minutes away and I highly recommend going and also to go to the water park. However, if you go by taxi it shouldn't cost more than 12 euros from the hotel to there and 12 euros back. State it to them before hand otherwise the driver will try and act DUMB. There's a place called Breakout I highly recommend going there, the owner is a retired British man, who is really friendly and it only cost 15 euros...
Read moreSome things were good, some things were poor. |Comfortable beds. Air conditioning in the apartment was fantastic. Small kitchenette was handy for making snacks, although the hotel did not provide an oven mit, dishtowel or cleaning sponge which was really inconvenient. We ended up using a hand towel as an oven mit. Cleaning was good on some days but less good on others. The floor of our balcony wasn't cleaned once during our 10 night stay. Fresh towels were provided everyday for use in the apartment and at the poolside. You don't need to take pool towels with you which is a great help. Tea and coffee sachets in the room were not replenished during the length of our stay. Bedding was clean and was changed frequently but we found stains on pillow cases and duvet covers. Apartment furniture is rather tired and needs maintained/upgrading. The water power in the shower was very low. It took a long time to wash long hair. Air conditioning unit was dripping water inside our apartment. It seems that the same problem runs throughout the hotel because it was dripping in the lobby and in the restaurant. |Food in the hotel ranged between good and poor. Breakfast options were the same each day. Continental options as well as cooked options are on offer. The quality of the breakfast was OK/good. Homemade pancakes were offered only on a Sunday, presumably because locals visit the hotel at the weekend. Not enough fresh fruit. Restaurant staff are very friendly and welcoming and they do a great job. |Dinner options changed every night. Quality of meat at times was poor and inedible. The chicken meat on offer at the roast night did not resemble chicken. Fish tended to be undercooked. The temperature of the food was lukewarm. The chef does a good job of adding flavour to food, but there are problems in the kitchen with cooking meat and fish and keeping it warm at the buffet. The salad options were the best part. We also enjoyed the cold desserts. There was a lack of labeling on some of the food so at time we weren't sure what we were eating. We took half board basis but we chose to eat out instead for more than half of our holiday. There's plenty of lovely restaurants in the area. |The pool area seems sufficiently big enough for the amount of hotel guests, however when locals decend on the pool at the weekend it turns into chaos. Rude unsupervised children caused mayhem with no regard given to fee paying hotel guests. The weekends, especially Sundays, were not enjoyable at the pool. We discovered after 4 days that towels had been left on sunbeds by people who had since gone home so we removed the towels and used the beds. The hotel could do more to prevent this happening. On the plus side there was no early morning rush to put towels on sunbeds. We had no problem getting sunbeds at 9 or 10am. The younger groups of guests tended to come down to the pool around mid-afternoon. You can't take your own food or drink to the poolside. Even though we had spent a small fortune at the pool bar during our stay, we were told off for taking one bottle of Pepsi to the pool. The locals were not told to remove their own food or drink. |On the whole we enjoyed our break in Ayia Napa, theres plenty to do in the area, not just clubbing! I recommend taking the breakfast option at this hotel if you intend to waken before 10am each morning, but I don't recommend the dinner. We wouldn't choose to stay here again if we came back to Ayia Napa but we would look for other accommodation in the same area. Its close enough to the busy area to get around, but it's far enough away from the clubs that you dont hear...
Read moreLet's start at the beginning. Two weeks before arriving we wrote an e-mail in which we emphasized that our arrival time is before 14:00 and we asked if it was possible to check-in earlier, or how it works. To this part of our e-mail, they did not reflect, so we thought it was okay. When we arrived, the receptionist lady told us to come back after two, because our room is not ready yet. We understood and accepted it, although we lost time with this little manouver. At around 5, we arrived back and there was a man behind the desk. First, he checked if we have a booking, then after a few risky minutes, he found that we are already half checked in (?) but we are not at the same time (?), so he started to search for the keys of the room, which he couldn't find, god bless his soul, he was even checking under the desk. After a few phone calls he agreed with his manager on giving us the spare keys, and we went to the room. We would like to use this occasion to say sorry to the man sleeping in room 313 on the 30th of April, as we went into his room, because he moved in earlier to our room. After telling this on the reception and wasting another half an hour, the room question got solved, but I asked the kind receptionist man to raise a few words for us, because we definitely would like to apply for a compensation, as the beggining of our vacation was ruined twice because of the hotel and they also put us into the most awkward position possible in a hotel. At the very same time, making us doubtful about trusting them anymore. He promised us to talk with his manager and give us a notice later about how it went and how will we get compensated, but, of course, it never happened. During our stay, the room was cold, but we would like to emphasize the amazing work the cleaning crew made. We are grateful for their work and their smiles. This was the only appreciated part of our stay in the hotel, besides its...
