The holiday was a friend holiday and was booked through LoveHolidays, how the hotel was perceived was not what was experienced. The rooms listed were of an updated nature with colourful lighting and a modern feel a reason of which why we booked the hotel, this was the complete opposite to what we were given. ||We had three rooms, split between seven people. All rooms were dark with the lighting being subpar, two of the three rooms had a rancid smell, one of the rooms would make people feel incredibly ill if they had stayed in that room - it was found to be the mattress that was the caused of the smell, suspected bodily fluids allowed to sit - a smell described as a pair of used football boots. On top of that the room in question - the air conditioning did not function - with all rooms there were no shower heads - only hand held, there were holes in doors, foot marks on walls, the wardrobes had no shelves, fuse boxes uncovered and making a distinct buzzing noise, destroyed furniture on the balcony and inside - broken tables, and chairs, the bedding was also dirty with hair and what appeared to be blood present, the curtains were also either hanging off their hooks or again not present, and there was no storage for clothing (drawers). This was all discussed with the reception staff but little to no help was provided, they just deflected. They did eventually fix the air conditioning but it took us three attempts just to obtain the remote from them. ||We subsequently lodged a formal complaint to LoveHolidays, who of which contacted the supplier company to liaise with the hotel, they tried to ring the hotel three times and were ignored, this is also due to the fact staff didn’t work on the desk, they were either asleep outside, outside, or walking elsewhere. LoveHolidays have advised us that the hotel is under investigation due to our complaint.||Cleaning of the rooms we were advised would be on the third day of our visit, this didn’t happen until the last day of our holiday which was rather pointless to say the least and the cleaning team just entered the room without prior knocking, and whilst many were asleep brining a concern for the security of our room and the hotel itself, a note on security, the hotel is very accessible by the public. ||My friends in the room with the broken aircon, did have to upgrade due the fact the room was not inhabitable due the above. The upgrade did impose an additional cost also. The upgraded room was the ones listed, which should’ve been allocated to us at the start. ||The facilities such as pools were suitable, however lacked cooling so were incredibly warm during peak heat times during the day. An issue with facilities/services was the severe lack of WiFi in any of the rooms which means you have to use your own mobile data, a major flaw for any hotel. The hotel had its own small shop, selling crisps, drinks, ice creams etc, but it is advisable to use local supermarkets due to the pricing of near €3 per item (bar drinks). The hotel is a 18-20 minute walk from the main strip so is in a great area, and there are supermarkets down the road also. | |The hotel mandates a €50 security deposit which is acceptable due to the nature of the hotel with hosting events via a Third-Party party company on a Sunday evening. ||We extended our check-in to the late evening due to our flight and were charged below the amount listed - a bonus actually - but in hindsight not of the staff team knew what the prices were, we were always told, come back tomorrow morning to sort things out and were quoted different amounts nearly every time. ||This hotel is not what was expected for a holiday costing well over £800 per person.||My opinion is avoid this hotel, or be severely disappointed, there are much better options of which we found in the...
Read moreA Disappointing Stay at Fedrania Gardens – August 2024
My friend and I stayed at Fedrania Gardens in late August 2024, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
From the moment we arrived, things began to go wrong. We had specifically paid for a package that included breakfast and dinner so we could enjoy excursions during the day. However, upon arrival, we were informed that only breakfast and lunch would be available. This completely disrupted our plans and resulted in lengthy delays to our excursions, as we had to wait a minimum of 1 hour and 20 minutes each day just to receive lunch. This issue was not isolated to us, as other hotel guests were experiencing the same delays.
The housekeeping service was equally disappointing. Despite being in the room for the majority of our stay, our bed sheets were not changed even once during the entire six nights. When we raised the issue with Olga, the receptionist, she checked the service logs and denied our claims outright, despite the clear lack of cleanliness. On top of this, I was forced to use the same towel for five out of the six days, as the hotel claimed they were experiencing a towel shortage. Worse still, the bathroom toilet in my room had visible stains upon arrival, which made it clear that cleanliness was not a priority.
We also encountered a deeply concerning issue of racial discrimination. Olga repeatedly refused our requests, which we initially tried to overlook, but after speaking with other Black and Asian guests, it became clear that they were being similarly neglected. When I confronted her about the behavior and asked if she was racist, she simply laughed and stood silent.
When we asked to speak with the hotel manager, Olga refused to contact them. It wasn’t until we spoke with the restaurant staff that we were able to reach Tony (the manager), who seemed apologetic and mentioned that Olga had previously been reported for similar behavior. He even offered us a 35% refund, acknowledging her misconduct, but after our initial contact, Tony stopped responding to our follow-up emails. We sent four additional emails with no response, leaving the issue unresolved.
While Cyprus itself is a beautiful destination, this hotel was a huge letdown. We were fortunate to make friends during our stay, but it was disheartening to discover that many of the Black and Asian guests we met experienced the same mistreatment.
For future travelers, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Fedrania Gardens may offer a low price, but the service, cleanliness, and treatment of guests were unacceptable. Additionally, staff morale seemed very low, with restaurant staff revealing that they earn only €1000 a month, leaving them with just €200 after expenses. This could explain the general lack of care shown toward guests.
Please take the time to read other reviews before booking – the patterns of poor service and discrimination are evident across many guest...
Read moreI am from Ukraine. My family and I have been in Fedrania Gardens since 25, August, 2021 till now.
Some guests wrote that you can change dinner to lunch but this is not true. Perhaps it had been that before but yesterday we learnt that we can't.
Also, there are no electrical plugs neither in the room nor at the reception so you have to buy or bring with you.
We have HB. The food is OK, some portions are big some are not, so you can ask a waiter about the size and they can recommend; additional portion is extra charged. All the drinks for dinner are for money which is not cheap and you even aren't allowed to drink your own ones. Breakfast is always the same and dinner is different. It can be rice with chicken or beef, chips with chicken, spaghetti, fish chips. Salad is included in some dishes.
I wish there were first dishes, some fruit and especially DRINKS that you could choose to addition to the main course without paying extra money.
We live in the old block. I asked to settle us in the new one but again we were asked to pay.
There are 4 of us (2 children) and there are 2 rooms in our suite. AC is only in our room and for children it's very hot to sleep at night. We leave the door to our room open but still it doesn't solve the problem although in our room it's cold.
WiFi is only near the reception and is not very good. No free safe box.
In the room there is a fridge, an electrical kettle, two cups (despite there are 4 of us), the bed for me and my husband is not complete - it consists of 2 parts.
The nearest beach in Sandy Bay is 10 walking. The water is very beautiful and clean but in the afternoon, when the waves are bigger, near the beach a litter of litter is floating, so we go to the rocks where the water is deep and the colour is more beautiful.
Nissi Beach is about 20 min but we went there twice, then we bathed only in Sandy Bay because it is not worse than it.
In the hotel there two gorgeous swimming pools. One is with jacuzzi and a waterfall. The water in the swimming pool is warm.
There are many big trees such as palm tree, orange, pomegranate, fig and many olive trees.
In the hotel it is very quiet, there are not many people. The music starts playing at about 7:30 but not too loud. Although I wish it didn't play so early. On Saturday evening there was a party but it was very quiet and finished early that we didn't notice it. But on Sunday it was a noisy DJ music down near the pool. It finished at about 9:00 PM.
All the little problems or questions were solved immediately without any hesitation.
There are a lot of souvenir shops and about 3 supermarkets not far from the hotel.
Water 11 litres cost €2.25 then you can use this bottle to fill 10 litres in the machine for €0.5 Bread 1kg - €1.5 Beer - 6 cans €4.5 Juice 1 litre -...
