Wow, wow, wow. If your visiting Famagusta and looking for somewhere to stay in the heart of the city walls and all it has to offer, then I can not recommend this place enough! We travelled as a family of 2 adults and 2 children and from the offset the manager Ertunç was so accommodating. He re arranged our room to accommodate us all. Nothing was too much trouble. Even after a long day travelling. Upon arrival we were greeted and offered refreshments before being welcomed into our room. The rooms were absoloutly immaculate and very spacious with a beautiful balcony with table and chairs-perfect to enjoy the morning sun looking out over St.Nicholas Cathederal. The powerful rainshower in the bathroom was a pleasent suprise. The hairdryer provided was one of the best hair dryers in comparison to other hotels. My daughters hair is waist length and thick and dried it no bother. There was a large double wardrobe with hangers and drawers- perfect for storing your clothes whilst staying. There was a kettle, tea. coffee, sugar and cups provided also. Perfect for enjoying a morning coffee on the balcony in the sunshine! There was a fridge with small freezer in the room also. Perfect for keeping drinks cold and freezing bottles of water- defo needed in the height of summer. There was also a small safe in the room. Perfect for storing passports and valuables. Toiletries and slippers were provided and fresh towels daily. The best part hower was leaving the room to go to the beach in the morning and arriving back in the evening having had the wonderful staff clean the room and bathroom, change the bedsheets and make the beds. As a busy mum that needed a break from the daily housework this was very much appreciated. It was the little touches that made this stay so amazing. The rooms are situated with a beautiful view of St Nicholas cathederal. The grounds themself are beautiful. Tables and chairs to sit and relax whilst being surrounded by lemon trees and beautiful flowers. So picturesque. The beautiful welcoming and cozy reception area had so much character too! The main thing that made it for us was the friendliness of the staff Favour and Faribia. Nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely to be greeted by such friendly faces every morning for breakfast. The breakfast was absoloutly beautiful and there was so much! From fresh bread |jams, olives, eggs, cheese, fresh fruit. pancakes, tea, coffee and fresh orange juice. It was the perfect way to start the day on a full belly! The staff all went above and beyond for us and I honestly do not have one bad thing to say about the Golden Palms Guest house. There were several times my family wanted seperate takeaway orders from surrounding restaurants delivered to the guest house to eat in our room and Favour sourced the telephone numbers and made this happen. They treated me, my husband and children like family not guests and this just made our stay so pleasent. The guest house and grounds was covered in CCTV making you feel a sense of safety. There was also a car park opposite the guest house-perfect for parking your car safely-again this was also covered by CCTV. This will now be my go to when...

We chose the Golden Palms on a recommendation and it couldn’t have been better. The rooms are so spacious beautifully equipped and tastefully decorated. The host and staff were excellent welcoming and had big happy genuine smiles on their faces all the time we were there. |Nice powerful shower, complimentary toiletries, crisp sheets and plenty of towels and good easy to use air con. Read moreThe rooms are spacious, clean, toiletries provided. Comfortable bed. Net in the bathroom. Beautiful setting for breakfast. Great location right next to the old church. Plenty of parking opposite. I would have given 5* if it weren't for the usual Northern Cyprus Euro scam. Price quoted in € at arrival (we didnt pre-book). We asked for the price in Lira, since payment was cash only and i didnt want to use the cash machines that offer € since they charge a high commission! We agreed on a price in TL (not with the owner, but the guy said he wrote it down so its fixed). When we checked out, the owner started calculating the rate in TL according to the current exchange rate, despite already having agreed a price in TL. Unfortunately we encountered this scam all over this part of the island - being quote an inflated price in € and then convet to TL so i can pay in the LOCAL currency. Obviously, they would not do that with...
