We returned last week from a fabulous 8 night stay. Family of 5 and two beautiful sea view rooms next to each other. On arrival we got offered a glass of Prosecco which was so welcomed after our long day travelling. The staff were lovely and friendly. Due to it being midnight when we arrived and us missing the buffet we were given a sandwich and fruit which was enough to see us through to the morning. The rooms were modern and spacious with a beautiful sea view, I was a bit concerned about the noise from the pool in the mornings as we are not early risers on holiday but the patio doors were extremely sound proof and we were never disturbed. The aircon/lights/dnd were all controlled from a digital panel next to the door which was really useful and easy to use. I loved the layout of the hotel, having been to large hotels before and found it difficult to navigate around with the little one, this was perfect for us. The pool was a good size but not too big and the little water slide was great for the kids. It was only open 10am-12pm and 15.30-17.30 so it gave the kids chance to get their lunch and have a break from the sun. There seemed to be sunbeds for everyone, if not around the pool but on the grass area by the beach. If you want a particular spot then getting up is necessary, I ventured down around 7-7.30 a couple of times and there was no rushing and managed to get the beds near the slide and the kids pool. I have to commend the life guards especially Sharlene who did not take her eyes off that pool unlike some of the life guards I have encountered before (mostly on their phone ). Sharlene was great with the kids (and the adults ) especially on the slide and I felt that I could relax more when she was on duty. The restaurant was situated on the level up from the pool so was really easy to nip for lunch. It has undercover seating and outdoor but it felt really open and spacious, not the usual dinner hall feel. The Animation team, Remco, Lina, Lili, Vanessa and Roxy worked so hard to make everyone’s day fun and come evening they entertained the little ones at mini disco and then there was something different every night that entertained both the kids and the adults. We had shows, bingo, karaoke, fun games. We had such a great time. Special thanks to Vanessa for her brilliant aqua aerobics and water polo and her dedication to the kids in the evening, she is a lovely young lady and my daughter loved her. Food was plentiful and wasn’t too overwhelming, there was approx 10 hot dish choices and different themes each day. The cold buffet was delicious and suited me. I loved the Cypriot /Greek salads pittas etc and there was plenty for the kids to choose from. Drink service at dinner and throughout the hotel bars was quick and easy. The Italian was a nice change on one of our nights, I didn’t try the Mediterranean but my daughter did and she really enjoyed it. If you want something different there are plenty restaurants just up the road that are lovely and reasonable. Other things about this hotel that I loved was the relaxed atmosphere and location. Protaras was a lovely 45 min walk along the beach front and this has a busy strip of bars and restaurants very family orientated but if you wanted something quieter the area (Penera) around the hotel is perfect . There is a marina located just next to the hotel which is currently under construction and being developed. There is a very small amount of noise which to be honest I didn’t notice after the first day. I would be really interested to see this when it is finished because it will be fantastic. We did the Aphrodite boat trip from the marina and that was well worth it, we had a fantastic time. If you want water sports it is right there on the beautiful sandy beach, we did jet ski-ing and it was just brilliant. There is just one thing I would change about our experience. I would have the evening entertainment outside instead of inside, I didn’t feel like being inside in such a lovely climate. But overall I can’t fault this hotel and I would return in a heartbeat.

We booked this hotel with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying. The location itself is calm, away from noisy tourist crowds, and the harbor sea is very quiet without waves – ideal for small children or those who simply like to stand in the water. The rooms we stayed in were freshly renovated, nicely equipped, and cleaning service was excellent. The food was also a strong point: very good quality, a wide variety, and plenty of choice every day. However, the most unpleasant and frustrating aspect of our stay was the sunbed situation. Even at 6:00 in the morning it was already difficult to find a decent place, as nearly all beds by the pool and even on the grass areas were “reserved” with towels. Most of those beds stayed empty until 10:00 or even 15:00, while other guests had no chance to find a spot. There was absolutely no control from hotel staff, and towels were never removed. This practice is unfair, extremely frustrating, and completely unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Instead of a relaxing holiday, we felt forced into a daily competition just to secure a place to sit. The entertainment was another disappointment. Children’s disco took place indoors, always with the same few songs, and the entertainment team showed little motivation to engage with guests or organize proper shows. For a family hotel, this was very poor. Overall, the hotel seems designed mainly for weddings and all-inclusive guests whose focus is on food and drinks rather than a balanced holiday experience. The infrastructure itself has potential, but it is not being used properly. During peak sun hours, it was also hard to find shaded or cooled areas, which made the stay even less comfortable. Summary: ✔ Calm location, good for families with small kids ✔ Freshly renovated, clean rooms and excellent cleaning service ✔ Very good food with plenty of variety ✘ Sunbed reservation scandal – even at 6 am no good place left, with no staff control ✘ Poor entertainment, unmotivated team ✘ Too few shaded/cool areas during the day Final impression: A hotel with potential, good food, and clean rooms – but the mismanagement of sunbeds and lack of guest-oriented service turned what could have been a relaxing holiday into a daily disappointment.

Beautiful location on the sea front and a harbour alongside which is useful for boat trips. Helpful if you want a quieter location, away from noisy bars, but also there is a lack of restaurants nearby so a taxi/ bus is needed to eat out. The hotel is stunning inside, a modern interior that makes it feel so luxurious! Loved the bedside key pads that you could control the air con and lights. The staff were very helpful and friendly, including replacing a lost room key for no charge, and the waiter who seats you/ serves drinks at dinner Stelios was especially friendly. I would recommend travelling outside of school holidays if you want to avoid children, we went at the start of June and the day we left towards the end of June there were increasing amounts of children with families. Another thing is we did not have trouble finding a sun bed poolside at 10am, whereas the last day we struggled to find one singular sun bed poolside or on the grass! The grass area is very useful if you don’t want to pay for a sun bed on the beach or if you don’t like the sand. In the gym there was a decent selection of equipment but could do with more. The spa is available until 6pm to use the showers if you are leaving and checking out. The food let the hotel down, it was quite repetitive, more like the same dish every night but in different flavours. The snack bar was nice however, with pizzas, burgers and wraps/ sandwiches available. The a la carte italian restaurant topped expectations with lovely pizza/ pasta options, would definitely recommend! There was a good selection of soft drinks and alcoholic cocktails, although certain ones required you to pay for, and ice cream selection was poor- you had to pay for branded ice cream. There is a shop inside the hotel and one over the road that is helpful for essentials and snacks. Another thing is the bus stop is basically outside which takes you into Protaras or Ayai Napa, although it is a bumpy ride so avoid if you get travel sick! The tennis courts are decent if you want to have a play, despite looking a bit worse for wear. Definitely worth buying the all inclusive package if you want to drink lots.

We stayed as a family over Easter. ||The staff are helpful and friendly. Special mention to the restaurant staff one person in particular went out of his way to interact with the children which made it a bit more special for them. ||Considering it out of season I was really impressed with the entertainment side of things. There was always someone playing/singing in the outside area and each night had the mini disco for toddlers then some form of entertainment. That was hit and miss but we're outside companies - the children however enjoyed it and that's what it's there for! One day there were traditional dancers at lunch, may have been for Easter or normal. ||We had a family room in the annex. Very short walk to the building behind (you can see on google earth how close it is). We didn't feel we were separated but did have a family member in the main building. It is annoying you can't get family rooms with sea views - just because we have children doesn't mean we don't want a sea view too! We could see a glimpse of water from our room but sadly the new harbour building has blocked most of that now. We were road side, top floor. Would say for an "inland" view it was nicer than the views the other side. We had evening sun and sunsets that side. No road noise on 4th floor.||Thr room was modern and big enough for a family of 4. Our bathroom was double the size to the main building room but not sure if this is the same on all of them. Bottle of water each to keep and refill for the stay. Various filling stations - one by the lift on the annex building which was handy.||We were all inclusive. The food was varied and fresh. Separate childrens section where there were chips, pizza, nuggets and some other bits. Salad was always fresh and lots of choice for everyone. The puddings however let it down. I'm not sure any of us found an amazing pudding in our week there!. Had never been all inclusive before but drinks were varied although only one lager so if you don't like it then tough! Variety of cocktails etc but a smaller menu than the main menu which I believe is standard. We managed to stay hydrated :-) ice creams are limited to chocolate or vanilla tubs or strawberry sorbet on a stick that's it.||The pool area was nice, slide open all day minus lunch time. Walk down on the beach which was lovely. We walked to protaras along the costal path which was nice. Took about an hour with a 8 and 11 year old stopping at points along the way. ||Building noise wasn't a problem in our room, never disturbed us. With the noise around the pool it also wasn't a problem. The only thing I found annoying was a machine they used had like a reversing beep but think it went off all the time they used the machine. It wasn't constant but there was one day it irritated me constantly going off. It definitely didn't spoil the holiday and when music was on around the pool, or games being played it wasn't even noticeable. It wouldn't put me off returning. ||My only criticisms of our stay were...||- the pool towels were not always clean and maybe half of our week we were given dirty towels. Dirty as in dried chocolate ice cream for example one day, another day some were just dirty like had been dragged on the floor. I mentioned to the lady in the spa where you get them and she laugh and brushed it off blaming laundry. I was not convinced they get washed after use and just get tumbled to dry. I would take my own next time but I am sure the hotel would defend this but I know some our towels were 100% dirty on 3 occasions||- around the pool needed to be swept behind sunbeds. In certain areas when you moved your sunbed around it was dirty around the edges, clumps of hair had built up and just wasn't very nice||- our rooms were cleaned the days we asked. You put the light on the door if you want new bedding and towels otherwise they just make up. The downside for me is they do not sweep the floors only mop. This meant all the crumbs/dirt or whatever were left around the edges of the room. We had to go back to the room one day and saw happen|||Overall it was a lovely stay. Probably not a wow stay but was relaxing and enjoyable. If I wanted to return to this area again I would stay at this hotel no problems.||Oh and finally we booked with BA and booked a private transfer. They used MTS transfers. No...

Absolutely amazing! Myself, my husband and our two children came to Cyprus and The Golden Coast Beach Hotel for the first time. I honestly have been blown away with the island and the hotel. From start to finish it was an amazing holiday. It was immaculately clean and this is a big thing for me. The staff were Constantly cleaning sides, floors, windows everything! The staff were so friendly. They went above and beyond, nothing was to much trouble. The food was brilliant, so much variety each night was a different theme. Sometimes you can get bored of all inclusive but not here, honestly such a change to have a hotel that caters for all. It was that nice we didn’t even use the two A la cart restaurants that come included for lunch and dinner for a weeks stay! Drinks menu was great too, not just basic cocktails but actual nice ones you would order at a normal bar if that makes sense. They also have kopperberg on tap which was great as you don’t see this in alot of places. Spirits were premium brands too. The guy at the pool bar Itso was brilliant, funny, friendly service with a smile always happy. Makes such a difference when the staff are in good spirits. In the buffet restaurant all staff couldn’t have been nicer. There is an older guy I believe he is probably management, so friendly and professional. He comes around and takes your drinks order, checks if you’re happy with the food and if there is anything he can get for you. Honestly this place is fantastic, they really make the holiday. Best till last, Sharlene the life guard, what an amazing woman. The hotel are lucky to have such an all round great, professional, funny, caring, knowledgeable kind member of thier team. All the kids loved her, as well as the adults. You felt safe knowing she was on duty with your kids in the pool or slide. She has her first aid kit on hand if anyone got in to trouble, not that anyone did but nice to see the preparedness. Honestly she’s a treasure and our family will miss her until we return again.

The entertainment team are great too, during the day there is plenty going on. From yoga to water aerobics or water polo or darts they have it all. They come around and check if you would like to take part. During the evening on the terrace there are musicians playing the piano, violin etc. There is also entertainment inside with kids mini disco from 8pm and then a different theme show at 9pm after and then bingo. This isn’t a crazy party party hotel but if that’s what you’re after Protaras is a 10 min cab journey away with plenty of lively bars if that’s what you’re looking for. Or Pernera is 10 min walk or literally 3 mins in a cab with bars restaurants ice cream shops etc. if you still have the energy after full on days in the sun and heat and activities!

Also would like to add the lady on the desk in the mornings was great got us an iron to keep in our room for the whole week some places make you return each night. She also got us an additional fan ( rooms do have good air con ) as my husband gets extremely hot and sleeps with one on all year round at home! Bed and pillows so comfy and this is a first ad most hotels aren’t. The shop in the hotel is great, reasonably priced and has everything in it card and cash payments. This is where you can book excursions too. Really good place, there is also the family shop across the road which has it all too. The towels for the pool are really large which is a bonus and can swap each day for fresh ones.

We see a few weddings at this hotel which was lovely. Can’t see what anyone on other reviews were moaning about unless they’re miserable! They are in a separate area anyway but nice to watch them walk down.

This hotel gets 5...
