Me and the family visited Cyprus via the operator TUI and stayed at Louis Althea Beach Hotel 5:th to the 12:th of August 2018. Cyprus is a fantastic country with beautiful beaches and amazing food. The hotel is situated near two family friendly beaches and not far from the famous beach Fig Tree Bay. Louis hotel has several bars and restaurants that serves good meals for a slightly higher price than surrounding taverns and restaurants, like Farakoni and Happy tavern. For the seafood and fish enthusiast there is Kalamies restaurant with amazing food and sea views. The hotel area is well maintained but could use some brushing up. The rooms are decent sized with air condition for those warm days. The beds are due for upgrades since the are close to best before date. Electrical wiring is on way lower level than in Sweden but may be in par for Cypriot regulations. There are two pools and one baby pool that are in good shape well equipped for the family with younger kids since there are no diving allowed due to the swallow depth (1,4m and 1,5m). The hotel has personal keeping water yoga, water polo and entertainment for young as old. To be honest we had a fantastic holiday up to the last day until either Louis Althea Beach Hotel and/or TUI decided to steal our last day due to poor planning and having no responsibility or accountability! So why have what sounds like fantastic holiday deserves a 1 star review, it sounds petty. Well I am a patient person that will get really angry when poked too many times. There was a large lizard cadaver laying on the lawn for the majority of the week, but in the defense we could have reported it to have it removed. We booked tickets via the operator at the hotel for a show, when we used the tickets we got the information that the tickets had already been used. The ticket situation got resolved so no major harm. The electrical wiring made it a mess to charge todays kids toys, which created some drama for the family. I have travelled around 20 countries and I travelled in the job and never have I encountered worse water pressure. Sometimes we had limited with warm water, but I have encountered only cold water, so it was not a deal breaker. The water pressure issue was related to the room 406. The last night our air condition broke down, but the reception got us a fan. The fan circulated the freakishly hot air in the room not really making it colder. But hey that is technology for you, so I can live with that there will be times of failure. The spotlights in the reception area are poorly placed which unfortunately led to my 8-year old boy burn his finger so he got a blister, but we got help from the reception, so we could ease his pain and patch him up. Be careful having your children playing in the reception area! What got me to lose it was the last day? 5 minutes before we where going to the pool the reception told us that we need to change rooms in 1 hour and 30 minutes! We booked the trip 6 months in advance and all the reception and/or TUI can plan is to give their guests a whopping one and a half hour head start for moving from one room to another during prime pool and beach time? On my holiday I plan my time and not the hotel and/or the operator, so this is not even close to acceptable. To make things worse the hotel and operator are referring to each other in attempt to have no accountability. Had the hotel and/or the operator only told us a day or more in advance we could have planned for the move and still have a nice last day, now the completely stole this day! The 10:th of August 2018 I was considering returning to the hotel but after the bitter after taste from the last days treatment I am glad knowing their poor customer handling and...
Read moreWe had a fabulous holiday and have no hesitation recommending this hotel for families. We enjoyed the grassed terraces for relaxation with wonderful sea views, plenty of space and the immediate access to the calm, clear sea adjacent to the hotel. Sun loungers were available every day which is so important, but so often neglected in many hotels, and it was helped by towels being removed from unfairly reserved beds most mornings. Food was genuinely exceptional and easily the best I've experienced at an all-inclusive hotel. We were 4 people staying 2 weeks and had no problems at all. Drinks service was quick and efficient , all inclusive alcohol was limited to local brands, which is good quality .Snack choices were plentiful and good quality, including fruit. I was suspicious before arriving how often the animation team is mentioned in reviews, however they are such a large part of the hotel that it's difficult not to mention their amazing efforts and performances. They are such friendly and professional young people too. And never once were we encouraged to write a review! Special recognition for Karolina who made time for us each day and was happy to chat even if we weren't always joining in! Pools are larger than they appear on photographs. Rooms were by no means high end luxury standard, but were large , well equipped , comfortable and most importantly clean.Towels and bedding were changed frequently. Bathroom was more luxurious than rest of room. Showers powerful and hot. The air conditioning was extremely effective and quickly chilled the room when needed. Two single beds pushed together was the arrangement. The hotel was very quiet at night. Issues and questions were dealt with professionally and to a high standard of service at reception by the main employee there. We weren't made to feel like awkward guests when we approached them each time! Also gratitude that we lost an expensive item at the hotel, we are thankful that it was handed in and returned to us. The hotel has a positive vibe, it has a good variety of nationalities visiting and children especially benefit greatly from experiencing this and socialising with new friends, which is supported and encouraged by the team. We returned two weeks ago and miss the place already. Our children especially...

From the moment we arrived at Louis Althea, it was evident that our 9-night stay was going to be exceptional. Here’s a breakdown:
• Food: Outstanding. Each day offered a diverse and delicious range of dishes, showcasing both freshness and culinary skill. Every meal was a delight. • Service: Impeccable. Whether we needed room service, assistance from the front desk, or had a minor request, the response was prompt and courteous. • Staff: Truly the highlight. Every member treated us with warmth and professionalism, ensuring our stay was memorable.
The standout aspect of our stay, without a doubt, was the entertainment team. Their efforts transcended typical hotel entertainment; they genuinely transformed our holiday. From sunrise to sunset, they curated an atmosphere of joy, engagement, and memorable moments. Fabio was at the helm with his exemplary leadership, guiding a team that clearly loved what they did, and it showed in every activity.
Marco, Alesandro, and Giacamo were a testament to this excellence. Their dedication to keeping our boys active and entertained, with activities like water polo, football, and volleyball, was beyond commendable. Each day was filled with anticipation, laughter, and genuine fun, largely thanks to their efforts.
A delightful layer to our holiday was the opportunity to connect with fellow European guests. Sharing experiences with individuals from Scandinavian, Italian, and French backgrounds added a multicultural dimension that further enriched our stay.
In conclusion, while Louis Althea offered a top-tier holiday experience, it was the entertainment team that truly made it unparalleled. We left with cherished memories and cannot recommend this hotel enough for families seeking more than just a vacation, but a true holiday adventure. Kudos to the...
