My daughter and I stayed at the Infinity Blu in Protaras in August for a week. We booked the hotel based on the many glowing reviews and looked forwards to a lovely relaxing week in the sun, by the pool and beach.|Firstly the positives. The hotel and room was exceptionally clean and modern. The food at the buffet was very good with a good choice and themed nights. The reception staff, were very welcoming and waiters and waitresses were fantastic and attentive, especially Hussein and Alessandro but all of them were lovely. Our room a superior studio with sea view was very modern and cleaned daily. There were plenty of comfy sun-beds and umbrellas, although the hotel strongly emphasised not to reserve sunbeds some people did.|Now for the negatives. |Despite the glowing reviews for this hotel we were very disappointed with several aspects which made our holiday memorable for the wrong reasons .|- We were given Room 201 on the corner of hotel next to a busy main road to the beach and traffic up and down constantly day and night.|- Due to the position of the hotel and our room we were subject to noise from the adjacent Tetyk hotel and their outdoor entertainment area to front of the hotel. Noise included very loud singing in Greek from often screeching and shouting entertainment to 12.45 am Friday and Tuesday evenings, plus a wedding and fireworks Saturday night. We had to complain to our reception along with others to get the singing stopped we could not sleep as the noise was at an unacceptable level.|- No regular evening entertainment (did not say there was any at the hotel in the descriptor) however 2 nights there was some low key entertainment a good singer/guitarist and Greek dancers but nothing to do after dinner at the hotel other evenings . Would benefit from some regular light local music / entertainment as there were adults of all ages at the hotel. As a result most people went to bed early.|- Our superior studio room with balcony and sea view was overlooking the car park. With cars and coaches arriving or departing regularly . We could not really sit on our balcony and relax due to the open corner aspect and close proximity to the car park, road and adjacent noisy hotel.|- We booked and expected a nice sea view and quiet relaxing room/balcony to sit out on. The sea view was a partial sea view with a closed down hotel directly opposite our room spoiling the view. |- We Complained to the on site TUI rep and hotel reception who told us there was “no other room to move us to as we booked a superior studio “ not a suite!|- The Beach access is not as per the TUI photos and is not directly accessible from the hotel due to new boardwalk in between the two , there is also a local charge for using sun beds on the beach.|- The beach is used by local families and is not private to the hotel and was very busy.|Whilst many of the reviews for this hotel are very good and people do return year after year it is a real paradox and for us I wish we had taken more notice of the fewer negative reviews as they would have made us think twice about booking it. The hotel has won many awards but I personally would not describe it as a tranquil “beech front paradise “.|In our view (and we are well travelled) it was not value for the money we paid. The location of the hotel, lack of a proper sea view and the close proximity to a closed, run down hotel and a very noise adjacent hotel (not depicted on travel photos) would not make us want to return We would also not recommend this hotel...
Read moreStrap in, it's not a short review So my wife and I came here as it was our ten year anniversary and also her 40th birthday. So we spent a bit more than we normally would on our holiday. Honestly I don't think we will ever spend less again. It was hands down the best holiday we have been on in the last 12 years. Hotel, food, drinks, staff absolutely top draw. I can see now having been why so many people go back year after year. Because the service and quality of the hotel is very high. We will definitely be back just probably not every year as we like to visit different places but this is on our list of places to return. Hotel - really nice hotel, on arrival greeted with an ice cold drink. We had a really late arrival and they had put sandwiches and fruit in our room. As it was our anniversary I'd also asked the hotel to arrange flowers and balloons in our room (which I paid for but they were more than happy to arrange) which was a lovely surprise for my wife. The hotel only has 50 rooms and over 100 loungers so there are no sun bed wars, any time of day you will find somewhere to sit, by the pool, by the beach, there will always be space. Air con in the rooms, fridge, hair dryer, safe, iron & WiFi all included. Staff - you can't fault them. They work long shifts and are always happy and have a smile on their face. Super friendly and chatty. From reception, bar staff and waiters. Everyone is so helpful and nothing is too much. If you stay around the top area then the wait staff will come out regularly to bring you fresh drinks all day and night. We never had an empty glass. Location - from the front loungers it's probably a 30 second walk to the sea, which is beautiful clear water. A wonderful cover which has sun loungers if you want them but the hotel is soooo close I can't imagine why you would want to. Beautiful sandy beach Pool - there is a nice heated pool at the hotel, we only used it for the first day as the hotel in so close to the beach we sat on the sun loungers near the stairs to the beach and just went in the sea rather than the pool. Pool is lovely (not the biggest) but you don't need it because the sea is soooo close. One positive of the pool is the staff will come out and offer you refills on your drinks very regularly throughout the day. Even if you are in the pool. Food - we normally go out and have a few meals in local places when we go away as the food in hotels can get a bit repetitive and boring. Also the quality of the food when feeding a lot of people can drop. This hotel though, food is of high quality. They put on different themes every night and they don't put out loads at a time so you know it's fresh. It's high quality and well cooked. We ended up only going out once and even then just to change it up a bit. Drink - great selection of drinks. Cocktails, soft drinks, iced teas, milk shakes, beers, cider, wine, coffees etc. There is a bar in the hotel and a bar near the beach. If you are near the hotel bar at the top you will be served by the staff throughout the day. If you are near the beach bar then you need to get your own drinks but it's never that busy so you won't wait long. Cleanliness - super clear hotel, you can see them every day, cleaning all...
Read moreUnfortunately, we made the mistake of not going to the usual hotel in Protaras, based on the reviews, we wanted to try this one. I should not have. A very cheap looking hotel at a high price. Most of the drinks are cheap imitations, cocktails are an undrinkable category. In the evening we went to a nearby bar, we met many Infinity guests there for the same reason. Breakfast and afternoon tea is a bad joke. Day by day, less food was put out, for 285 euros a day it is very infuriating! We didn't get the room we booked, even after a few days, when the hotel was already half empty, we stayed in the moldy room with an old bathtub, others wrote about an upgrade, we didn't get the room we paid for. Several of the pillowcases were moldy, and there was no regular blanket, only a sheet. The sea view room is a side room with a small glimpse of the sea and faces the other hotels . Every day the card had to be recalibrated because it didn't open the door, it was quite annoying to have to go down and up the hot corridor and elevator several times from the 3rd floor because it was not air-conditioned. The element in the door was replaced on the sixth day! There is no evening show No room service, no laundry service, no laundry service no fitness room The evening bartender is a very impolite and unfriendly person, he behaved rudely to me several times, if he doesn't want to work, then stop. In the 60-70% empty hotel, my son did not get the empty room next to us, this is natural in other hotels. We were the last guests here, we stayed until the closing day, I was injured during the vacation, which limited my movement, despite this, they wanted to ask for 75 euros so that we could stay in the room for an hour longer. The nice beach is a positive, but it is not the merit of the hotel. Therefore, for the price you can find a much better hotel in Cyprus, I do not...
