Enough parking space Cheap Decent beds for the price Staff was friendly Close by to multiple stores, a nice area for sports and public transport Hotel's first response to me alerting them to the bedbugs on my room at 00:00 was appropriate, (new room, kindly offered to let me use an empty freezer of theirs to store my clothing for the night so I can wash them in the morning), the response in the morning though... less satisfying considering the size of the hotel.
Expensive parking hotel staff that is unfamiliar with the surroundings of the hotel (Only able to direct you to the nearby mall as "they do not live in the area"). expensive breakfast (90DKK), especially considering the limited choice. very small kitchenette (no space to really store food) very small bathroom (feels like 1.5m by 1m, and that is a room with a showerhead, curtain, bassin, towel rack and toilet) thin walls (and floors...), I could hear my neighbour's music quite clearly, despite the audio being at a reasonable listening level (and ofcourse heard it when he accidentally bumped his arms against the wall in the shower, familiar issue). bad common kitchen, with pans that have passed their life expectancy, and only 1 working oven No electric car charger Bad lighting in the room, instead of having a light in a centralised location, there is one in the little hallway, and there are lights above the kitchenette and desk, in the corner and near the bed but no centralised in the room that you can flick on or off with 1 switch. Room door had the tendency to not close properly... (sometimes It would just not fall in the lock) The beds gave me a weird itchy rash that looked like bug bites (I did not see any bugs and a cursory google search placed, dust mites as the likely culprit). Bad air management, leading to the elevators and parking garage smelling like whatever someone was cooking, and whenever someone walked past your room who just smoked, your entire room would smell like cigarette smoke. The drying machines were openable mid program (laundry machines were locked after 5m, and only opened when the program ended), (no code, key or autolock), at least there was a camera clearly visible in the laundry room. the morning after I was told that the room was "bed bug free" and that they found no evidence of bed bugs (yay), however based on the pictures and the marks on my body I still made the decision to check out and go home (no difficulties here with reception), but then a guy came by my current room to check for bed bugs. I told him to go ahead since I am departing, and I hope to god that he mindlessly went to check before realising: "wait, I can do this when the customer is away" and left again. Because all he did was check under the bed before leaving.
+- Room I was moved into after alerting the hotel to bedbugs was not entirely clean, but semi...
Read moreI've lived here for 2 months, so I hope my opinion is worth something.
With two stars I don't wanna say it's completely horrible, but it does score below average on most points. I would say since it's by far the cheapes hotel in Copenhagen you get what you can expect for the price.
Let's start with the positive things: Generally staff is very friendly and helpfull.
Rooms are decently sized beds sleep quite well, but the kitchenette and shower are very small.
Now on to the "average" and "below average" points:
If you are staying in a Cabinn, your room will be cleaned once a week, which on itself isn't horrible, but the quality of cleaning really varies from week to week. Some weeks it's decent, others they really only make the bed. Never did they do a real thorough job.
There is a kitchen you can use as a guest, but it's often quite full, and it's not equipped really well. It does the job, but most people I spoke prefer eating out or just get a meal you only need to heat up.
The laundry service is horribly expensive (about 6,5 euro's) but because the neares laundromat is quite far it's the only option you've got. Your clothes will be clean, but the detergent they use doesn't have a nice smell to it. It will just smell very neutral after washing.
During summer months a lot of rooms will get very hot and the flow of fresh or cooled air through your vent is not nearly enough to make an impact. If you decide to sleep with the window open you really need some ear muffs because it's located on a very busy street.
Another point that may have impact on your sleep is that the curtains don't really block too much light. Not a problem during winter days, but during the months of May, June and July you will definitely need a sleeping mask if you're used to sleeping in a very dark room.
Breakfast is about 13 euros. For that amount of money I would definitely advice you to go to Fields and buy fresh bread or pastry in the supermarket. It will taste just as good or better, but the variety is much bigger, and at least there they have decent coffee.
All in all I would recommend it if you're here for a short stay during winter months, but if you can afford it I would really look into other hotels. For example the city of Dragor has some hotels that are similarly priced and I cannot imagine they will be worse than...
Read moreWhen I booked the room, I inquired if they could provide us with a bathtub as we were celebrating my husband's birthday. They said it wouldn't be a problem. However, upon arrival, a young lady informed us that none of the rooms had bathtubs, and that only four-star hotels would have them. The toilet was also very small and had a strong urine odor, which permeated the entire room. The next day, we asked if they could clean the toilet for us. Another lady assured us enthusiastically that they could, but the odor remained the same. Coincidentally, we ran into a cleaning staff member and asked if all rooms smelled the same way, to which he confirmed. We went downstairs to inquire about this issue, and they offered to change our room. When we returned that evening to switch rooms, we encountered the same lady from the first day, and she arranged for us to move to a room on the same floor. However, the issue persisted. It wasn't until we requested to see rooms on different floors that we found one with a slightly better odor. They mentioned they only clean once a week, so the next cleaning would be on Monday. Since we were staying for ten days, we left early on Monday to facilitate cleaning, but nobody came. On Tuesday, when I stayed in the room to work, the cleaning staff finally arrived.
Moreover, the booking page clearly stated the availability of a shower or bathtub, yet they claimed otherwise upon inquiry. Secondly, the smell in the toilet was severe, and I find it hard to believe they were unaware, yet still assigned us to that floor. The gym, which wasn't mentioned to have an additional charge on booking.com, suddenly required extra fees upon arrival. Most importantly, the shower area, sink, and kettle in the room were all dirty, and the water wasn't clean either. Having stayed in at least 50 different rooms, this was the first one that made me want to leave immediately. However, it's not all negative; there were still staff members with good service attitudes, the lobby was beautiful, and there was a kitchen for cooking. Nonetheless, overall, I strongly do not...
