We went to Crowne Plaza Copenhagen for the first time. We are on the road a lot all over the world, but this visit was really impressive. The CP is a modern, very innovatively designed hotel, which unfortunately is located in a very undemanding environment: a district, some of which is still under construction. The view is still great. From our window we could see far across the country, up to the Baltic Sea and the bridge to Sweden. The hotel is only a few minutes away from the airport and the city centre. One station of the metro and the regional train is almost at your door and can be reached on foot after three to four minutes. The expressway leading directly past the hotel is noisy (though you won’t hear this from your room because of noise reducing windows) but also provides a fast connection to the city centre and the airport by car. The hotel's staff, who were very friendly and courteous in all areas (reception, restaurant, club lounge, bar), deserves special praise. The service deserves the best mark in any case. The rooms are modern, technically well equipped and spacious. You feel at home there and can work or just relax. The sleep quality in big, modern beds with lots of cushions and firm mattresses ist outstanding. A special highlight is the hotel's Club Lounge, to which we have been invited as Spire Elite members of the IHG Reward Program. All the staff there were great and left nothing to be desired. For a club lounge, the choice of food and drinks was not only exceptionally large, but also of very good quality. Unfortunately, we had some minor technical problems in the room, which were rectified the next morning by two very friendly technicians. A defect that could not be remedied immediately was compensated by a generous credit of points to our rewards account. Two small drawbacks of our visit were the bar, which unfortunately was closed very early, and the food in the restaurant, which on the one hand had typical Danish prices (from our point of view quite expensive), but unfortunately also only of mediocre quality. However, this is nothing unusual in hotels. In this respect, the CP Copenhagen is by no means worse than most other hotels in this category. The hotel also has a special advantage in this respect. Only a few meters away is a shopping mall with a large fitness center with pool, steam bath and sauna, which can be used by the hotel guests free of charge. It fully compensates for the rather small fitness area of the hotel.
All in all, Crowne Plaza Copenhagen is a good recommendation for a visit to the Danish capital. In terms of service quality and equipment, it does not have to fear comparison with an Intercontinental hotel in many respects. We'd love...
Read moreWe stayed here as we are IHG members for a short 2 night break to Copenhagen. We wanted a hotel that was clean, modern and had air conditioning( very few appear to have this and essential in the summer)
On arrival at Copenhagen airport then its very easy to take the train towards Copenhagen central, a 2 stops takes you to Orestad. From there, a simple exit, walk across the road and bridge and the hotel is on the right.
7 minutes from the airport and the same to the city however you also have an option of taking the metro from either station which is very easy. 24dk for a 90 minute ticket. Public transport is cheap, fast and frequent.
The hotel entrance has an atrium filled with plants and also shared with businesses.
There is a gym but no pool which is a shame. Check in was friendly and we were given a king room on the 17th floor (25 floors in total i think). Good view of the city however could not even partially open a window.
The room is clean with a very comfy super king size bed. Power outlets, good lighting and black out curtains. Very quiet. All the usual room amenities including a fridge( found a half drunk milkshake inside it) , flat screen tv but maybe 1 or 2 English tv channels would be good? In room safe, hairdryer etc. Tea/coffee.
The room had air conditioning but even on maximum, it struggled to cool the room which was stuffy with no ventilation at all, including the bathroom which made the room very warm when the shower was on.
The bathroom was disappointing with a small bath/shower. The shower screen was short so with the shower on, water kept going over the floor. I would suggest a walk in shower perhaps rather than a bath? There is ample shampoos and shower gels.
We booked a room rate with breakfast. The breakfast was nice with plenty of choice of hot foods(full English style) and fruit, pancakes, yogurts, cheese, ham, breads, cereals etc. Something for everyone.
This Crowne Plaza would be superb if they could turn up the air conditioning and maybe add a pool/jacuzzi which other Crowne Plazas we have stayed at in the past have had.
No effort at all to get into the city or airport either by train or metro.
Across the bridge is Fields mall which is open late with a good range of shops and...
Read moreI almost never leave reviews like this, but our recent stay at the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen was not only deeply disappointing — it was disturbing, humiliating, and completely unacceptable.
First, when we first checked in, we were given a room with such an overpowering, foul odor that it was almost impossible to breathe. We immediately asked to be moved and were reassigned to a room on the 19th floor. Thankfully, this room did not have the same smell — but it was not ready. We had to wait two full hours before we could even enter. Losing that much time on a trip because the hotel couldn’t provide a ready room was beyond frustrating.
Then came the incident that left us completely shaken. My partner was in the shower, and I was at the sink with the bathroom door open — fully naked — when suddenly, without any knock or warning, a stranger opened our hotel room door and walked in. We made direct eye contact before they quickly left, but the damage was done. I felt completely violated, humiliated, and unsafe. Moments later, the front desk called to apologize, saying that “we weren’t registered to that room.” This was outrageous — we had been moved there by the hotel staff themselves. This was a serious breach of privacy and security, and yet the hotel offered no form of compensation whatsoever.
The next morning, things got worse. When I went to shower, only scalding hot water came out of the tap — so hot it was impossible to use. Maintenance was called, but it took so long that we had to leave without showering. Later that evening, after a long day of sightseeing, we returned hoping for a normal shower, only to find the opposite problem — there was now no real hot water at all, just barely lukewarm. It was so uncomfortable, but I had no choice but to take a quick, unpleasant shower.
This stay was plagued with problem after problem — unacceptable room conditions, long delays, serious privacy violations, and poor maintenance — and all of it handled with little to no accountability. For a hotel carrying the Crowne Plaza name, this was shocking. I left feeling angry, disrespected, and utterly let down. I would never stay here again, and I strongly urge management to address these failures so that no other guests have to endure what we...
