This was my second time coming to this hotel and I must say I was highly disappointed. I was looking forward to my return to Costarena after the amazing experience I had last year. When I arrived the hotel was exactly the same cozy and clean. However, I was disappointed with the service. The breakfast was absolutely horrible. They advertise the breakfast from 7:30-10:00 I got there at 8:45 and there was nothing left and when I asked if they were making more food I was told no. There were pancakes with no syrup I asked for Syrup and was told it finished. In the beach restaurant I was charged 25 pesos for a cup of ice. I’ve never heard of a hotel charging for Ice. You could not have dinner because the cook was never there. We ended up eating at the baraonda restaurant next door for hotel Alisei which was was AMAZING! You are not allowed to have music playing by the pool. The next day at breakfast they served pancakes from the day before and STILL NO SYRUP.... honestly before this trip I would recommend this hotel to everyone but now after this trip I would think twice about it.... if you don’t eat here the hotel is not bad it’s clean and a great location but you need to be prepared to eat outside...
Read moreMy husband and I were traveling the north coast of the country and had no firm plans, so we did not prebook our stay. Once in Las Terrenas, we Googled hotels and this one popped up. It is a hidden gem. It is in a great location, walking distance to restaurants and shops. The staff is super helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to welcome us and make sure we were happy. The hotel, grounds, and rooms are spotless. The room was so clean and I am very picky about cleanliness. Costarena is just what you think of when you think of a beach hotel. The decor is very cute and the rooms are simple and comfortable. If you are expecting a newly renovated, “fancy” hotel, this isn’t for you. The hotel is steps from its own private beach and has a pool. Our room has its own balcony that got a beautiful breeze in the afternoons and evenings. The air conditioning worked perfectly too. The hotel / beach has a small restaurant. We only ate breakfast (free!), because there were so many other food options close by. The food was solid - not amazing, but certainly good. The front desk helped us book massages, which were also amazing. Finally, the price cannot be beat. I highly...
Read moreThe beds are very short and with my height of 190 cm I protruded by at least 10 cm. My wife and I travel a lot, but such short beds were nowhere to be seen. We asked for an exchange for a room with two beds, but the price was unreasonably high: 600 USD. At the time, there were several hotels with twin rooms priced at $ 350-450. Unfortunately, it was no longer possible to cancel the stay here. If you have a longer figure, I recommend accommodation in another hotel. Otherwise the hotel is very clean, cleaned every day. The rooms are spacious, the hot shower works perfectly, the pool is nice. Breakfast at the beach bar across the street from the hotel was good. There were plenty of free sunbeds on the beach for hotel guests. The sea is clean with a beautiful beach and gradual access to the sea. There are also restaurants and bars in the area. Aso after a kilometer begins the zone of shops and other...
