I have never had a worse experience at a bar in my life. I came here with friends expecting to have a good time, and for the first hour everything seemed fine — we ordered drinks, chatted, and spent money like any other customer. Then, completely out of nowhere, a staff member approached me and told me I had to leave because I was wearing Crocs.
Let me be clear: no one mentioned any kind of dress code when I walked in. I had already been there for an hour, ordered multiple drinks, and was minding my own business. If there truly was a “no Crocs” policy, shouldn’t that have been addressed at the door — not after they’ve happily taken my money for an hour? The way it was handled was unprofessional, humiliating, and made me feel completely unwelcome.
I’ve been to bars and restaurants all over the world, and I’ve never once been singled out over something as petty as footwear, especially after already being seated and served. The staff’s attitude was rude and dismissive, and they clearly had no interest in resolving the situation with any kind of courtesy or common sense.
If you care about being treated with basic respect, avoid this place. There are plenty of other bars such as Etno and Babylon around the area that will appreciate your business regardless of whether you’re wearing Crocs, sneakers, or whatever else. This was an embarrassing and frustrating experience, and I won’t...
Read moreA group of friends and I tried to enter into this bar when they were letting people in without issue and then when it came to my group which was a mixture of races, the bouncers then proceeded to ask for our IDs. Meanwhile in another line, light skinned men and women walked in without issue and darker skinned women entered if accompanied by a man. We were obviously perplexed by the situation and in a heated altercation one bouncer called my Dominican friend a Haitian b**. Making it very obvious that the real reason we were not allowed into the bar was due to their inability to identify our nationalities. This bar is blatantly racist and ignorant. Who would want to go to a bar that discriminates against Haitians, Black Americans or anyone who doesn’t fit their “ideal person” they want in their bar? This is sad. It’s sad that their management allows the bouncers to spread hate and evil, instead of creating an environment of kindness and acceptance. Whether you’re white, black, immigrant, tourist etc. Do not support a bar who’s ideals are clearly fautly and ignorant. If we want to see a change in this world, we need to stop giving places like these our time and money. The people working in that bar need education. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE and...
Read moreI wish I could give zero stars for service. I went to this bar on New Year’s Eve which also happens to be my wife’s birthday. The bartender made a mistake on our drinks, I proceeded to pay for them expecting the error would be corrected. To my surprise the bartender aggressively told me they would not be remaking my drink. I went to get my money back and after returning my money one of the ladies by the register snatched the drink out of my hand. It was such ugly and gross behavior I was shocked. With less than 15 minutes left to midnight, we walked over to ETNO bar down the street, would rather take that risk than stay in that place for a minute longer. We ended up having a lovely night at ETNO which had better DJ, better sound system, friendlier lowkey vibe, a better mix of locals and tourists. What a disappointment and a poor representation of Dominican culture...
