El Mosquito Rooftop Las Terrenas — Restaurant in Las Terrenas

We came here excited to enjoy a night out with friends, dancing and having fun in good spirits. Unfortunately, what started as a great evening turned into a real disappointment. When we ordered a few shots, clearly priced and requested by name, we were handed a final bill inflated by about $320 (20kDOP), with prices obviously miscalculated on purpose.

We were polite, respectful, and simply having fun, so this felt like a deliberate attempt to take advantage of us as visitors. Thankfully, some local friends noticed the scam. Otherwise, we would have been overcharged without realizing it.

It’s sad to see a place that could have offered good memories choose to act without honesty or respect. Trust is everything in hospitality, and this place completely broke it. We ended our night early, disappointed and frustrated.

A nice ambiance with a pretty view on the outside patio. Came to see the sunset, but we were too late… so we watched the moonrise instead… beautiful. An interesting menu - different from so many of the other restaurants… had a tuna starter, followed by my favourite chicharrones, and my husband had chicken appies and Thai beef skewers. All tasty. The service was excellent...

Nice decor. Food was very average at best. Ordered different plate to share, none was "wow" lets say.

One of the plate was thai noodles with beef and it literally was a spagheti pasta...
