Residence Mar Azul — Hotel in Las Terrenas

Do not rent this place for long term stays if you are working remotely.

The Wi-Fi is terrible. Video calls were impossible. As a result we had to use Claro SIM cards for which we payed ourselves. We tried to communicate it to the host, but we were told that she "stood by our window and youtube wideo was working, so the connection is good". Extender didn't help. We were told before our stay that the Internet is much much better. Kitchen is very poorly equipped which makes cooking pretty hard -There were no cleaning supplies at our disposal There was a bad small coming from the pipes in the bathroom for the half of our stay. The place doesn't have a backup electricity supplier so when there was a power outage in half of Las Terrenas we were left with no electricity twice for a few hours.

Great localisation away from the husstle, very calm and close to city centre. Apart from ignorant reaction to the Internet problem Desiree is a lovely person and reacted quickly to our messages reporting other problems, sho also recommended us different events in town and informed whatever was going on when there was no water or power due to...

Residenziale Mar Azul is an absolute gem! The location is simply enchanting—just a short walk from the stunning beach, in a peaceful and secure environment that allows you to truly relax and enjoy the beauty of Las Terrenas.

One of the biggest advantages of staying here is the fact that they have both a planta and a well. This is a game-changer because power outages are quite common in Las Terrenas, but here, you never have to worry about being left without electricity or water.

En temporada de lluvia se inunda todo, si bien para acceder a las habitaciones está en alto, el acceso a la piscina y estacionamientos se inundan, no puedes usar el aire acondicionado porque están debajo del apartamento donde se inunda cuando llueve🤦🏻‍♀️ El acceso a la lavandería (servicio que ofrecen) en realidad es limitado, solo puedes ingresar si alguien del equipo de limpieza te acompaña, a mi me pasó que las sábanas de la cama donde me quedé no las habían cambiado (olían mal y a guardado y a polvo) y cuando pedí que me las cambiaran tuve que esperar al día siguiente después de medio día porque no había personal de limpieza y no podía acceder a la lavandería por mi cuenta.

La habitación donde me quedé olía muchísimo a humedad, el host dijo que “era normal” pero la verdad es que llevo 3 años seguidos viajando a Las terrenas y es la primera vez que pasó lo que en este residencial.

El servicio de internet estuvo inestable pero lo resolvieron en mi tercera noche.

Limpieza 6/10: -El baño usa cortina y te podías dar cuenta que estaba llena de pelo, bastante desagradable. -Las sábanas tenían mal olor, llenas de polvo, evidentemente no las lavaron antes de mi check in. -Las almohadas viejísimas y con mal olor.

Cuando cambiaron la ropa de cama la experiencia mejoró pero no quita la terrible primera noche que me tocó pasar 😓

La cocinita muy útil, tiene lo que se necesita y estaba limpia.

El balcón genial porque tiene mosquitero y puedes estar allí disfrutar de ver el jardín y se puede fumar.

Está cerca de la playa, walking distance, de unos 5 minutos máximo.
