My partner and I booked a stay at the Hotel Inca Imperial through a third-party booking website, which boasted some very impressive (but, in my humble opinion, overrated) reviews. The main floor, featured on the website and most reviews available, features beautiful Incan-style decor, but the floors where the rooms are located are quite outdated. ||||For around $40 a night, the Hotel Inca Imperial is not a bad choice. The location is decent; not scenic, but only a short cab ride away from La Mariscal. The breakfast is included but somewhat lacking, with only a few eggs, a roll, some juice and instant coffee (but it should be noted that many of the nicer places we have stayed at in Ecuador have a very similar breakfast menu). Definitely check out the many other hotels and hostels in the area that have good reviews and similar pricing (I wasn't aware of these other and seemingly better options until after booking, and there is a cancellation free of about $40). ||||That having been said, our room was clean and spacious enough and we enjoyed our stay. The bed was large and comfortable, there is hot water (not guaranteed around these parts), the room has a large flat screen TV, the wifi is free, and the restaurant has a fine lunch and dinner menu at a great price. The staff are very friendly, although most do not speak English (I enjoyed this as I speak Spanish, but it may prove to be a bit tricky for those...
Read moreMy son and i stayed at the Inca Imperial while touring Ecuador... arriving in Quito at 2am, Paola from the Inca arranged for Diego to pick us up and bring us to the hotel and from there we knew we were in safe hands. Paola's kindness and courtesy made us feel safe and cared for from the very beginning. During our stay she gave us great advice and helped us well after we'd left and moved on to other destinations. Paola helped to make our trip relaxing and fun.. and the hotel itself is clean and comfortable. It's a little walk to the tourist areas but taxis are cheap in Quito so we had the best possible introduction to Quito and Ecuador. Thank you Paola. When we return we know where...
Read moreThis hotel was probably built and in it's prime in the 1940's. A lot of the original furniture is still in place. That makes it an interesting and elegant place.||It is comfortable, quiet, has a lift which is a huge plus to me as I'm travelling from the U.S. with lots of luggage. The restaurant in house is great and all of the prices are extremely reasonable.||I usually arrive late so have never even tried 'walking' the neighborhood, so I'm unsure about that. Taxi's are always available and the front desk will schedule early morning pick up. Sadly it is not so convenient to the new airport but it's a great value for staying...
