Arabia Azur hotel is not a hotel that we would recommend.
The night we arrived at the hotel, they asked if we would like to have a better room, we said we were tired and it is exactly the same. They waited to get tips, which made it take longer to check in. Afterwards, when we got the key, it was broken. We did not get any information about where to go to find the room and what happens to the luggage. We went to the security and asked and said that no information has been given. We didn't know where to go. The guard contacted the receptionist and they said someone would come and help soon, then we got gifts at the very end when we had contacted the guards. There was one couple before us who got gifts right away. So those gifts seemed like a band-aid on the "no information" incident.
Then we arrive at the room, which has neither a fridge nor a safe. The room is a long way, which means that you have to walk for 10 minutes to the pool and general area we will be in.
The next day we will have breakfast, we kindly ask the reception where we should go. They also answer silly but annoyed as if they hate life, that they don't eat breakfast in Egypt on Sundays.
The breakfast is a small selection, but with something most people find themselves eating. There is almost nothing at the lunch/snack bar. Sausages and buns from breakfast. Dinner/evening is the best food throughout the day. Hot pizzas that are fried and a little more fast food. We were also unfortunately witnesses to a guest finding something in the food.
Head Barman is a self-absorbed asshole. No service or good mood in him, if he hates the job he should quit, scares everyone away. All the other staff who walked around the beach and pool fetching cocktails/drinks were super friendly and very service minded. Stupid that all of the tips they earn go to the idiot Head Barman, who probably makes more than them, when they themselves walk in over 20 degrees all day, in way too big shoes and long trousers.
When it comes to Wifi/internet, it is only in public places, i.e. not in the room. Which many will probably find very annoying.
The only positive thing about this hotel is the people who go around selling activities/trips. We bought a trip "SAFARI" super nice!! RECOMMENDED!!! Much cheaper than with a travel agency.
We bought the trip from Hosan, a super nice guy who we wish all the best. Great explanation and not least memories for life.
We will never return , we will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Little things like:
A tile from the pool was gone and watch your hands during aqua-aerobics because the pool is broken at the edges/sides. Children beware!
Another thing is how employees are towards each other. We have eaten several times and witnessed employees arguing or complaining/screaming at each other which is not acceptable. It is simply sad how young boys stand like they are in the military before dinner and get a lot of crap thrown at them.
In addition, the fire alarm went off 3 times within a day.
We understand that this is the winter season in relation to smaller amounts of food and such, but much of this is not about winter time.
Turkey will always be above Egypt. Much nicer to go to Turkey, to people who actually want us to be happy and do a fantastic job regardless of the hotel.
And to people who don't 💶🤑💰 want money for...
Read moreI'm coming to this hotel for the second time! I was here 6 years ago and I remember my stay at this hotel for a long time! The hotel is a 15-minute drive from the airport. The hotel is famous for its huge coral reef, home to a large number of different fish, moray eels, stingrays, octopuses, even dolphins swim! Wonderful entertainment for snorkeling and diving. Some guests say that you will not see so many fish even on an excursion, as here. A huge territory with different types of beach and sea entrances, a large and clean swimming pool. The staff constantly takes care of the territory, plants, it is always clean, cozy, comfortable here. The staff is friendly, unobtrusive, smiling, joking, always ready to help and provide any service. Delicious food for every taste - meat, fish, vegetarian food, sweets, ice cream, always fresh food, a good assortment. You will never stay hungry. Breakfast starts at the main restaurant, then you can have a snack at the Marina restaurant on the beach, dinner at the main restaurant, and there are two restaurants for a fee. Cocktails and fresh ice cream are available for a fee at the pool bar, and cocktails can also be enjoyed on the beach and in the lobby bar. I would especially like to mention Mahmoud Mostafa, who prepares pizza in the Marina restaurant, will cook any pizza you wish. From morning to evening, the Panda's Entertainment animation team entertains. The morning starts with charging on the grass near the pool - stretching, yoga, pilates... Then games in the pool - water polo, aqua aerobics, or near the beach towel service you can play volleyball, darts, buccia, kubb game... At 16 o'clock there are dancing lessons, aerobics, zumba or belly dancing around the pool. In the evening, every day, the entertainment program of animators in the theater - disco, dance show, belly dancing, lottery with prizes, acrobat show was very memorable... I would like to express my great gratitude and appreciation to animator Elina from Russia for her help during the whole holiday, and to the entire animation team for a fun time! Special thanks to the singers and musicians who give unforgettable evenings of live music and songs in the bar on the second floor! I especially remember and liked the performances of the saxophonist! And I would like to thank all the chefs, waiters, bartenders, managers, rescuers, security service, employees who issue towels, those who monitor and clean the territory, room cleaners, porters, repairmen. Many thanks to all the staff for their hard work, working in the heat from morning to evening, who make our vacation so wonderful, comfortable and memorable for a long time! I'm sorry if I forgot to mention someone! I want to come to this paradise again and again! The only disadvantage is not always possible to find a free room at a convenient time of rest, since the hotel is always full of guests! Best...
Read moreReally not sure what the big hype is about this place. Besides the clean beaches and mostly nice staff, this hotel left a lot of bad impressions and unmet expectations. For the price however, I cannot complain.
The rooms are spacious but really old and need renovations. Balcony view facing the beach was nice though. The toilet seat and walls were filled with ants the whole day, despite washing them away, the ants would fill up the toilet again in minutes. AC was very noisy and the control panel looked ancient. Cleaning staff replaced towels daily and made up the bed which was appreciated.
The restaurants had the most boring limited food options. Lunch was either grilled fish or chicken and fries, one sad looking pot of soup, and a poor salad bar . Did not bother trying the breakfast or dinner. Room service food was soo bland and boring. Low quality produce sadly. Drinks and local spirits were also tasteless and boring.
Most of the guests acted soo entitled like they own the hotel. Whether they were Germans or Russians or Eastern European, they had such a snarky attitude. Stingy and grumpy folk that will argue for a couple of euros like their home countries are much better, it’s almost ironic. Not to forget the daily morning battle of reserving sun-beds by the pool or the beach. By 11 am there are barely any spots left. At late nights, you can hear them drunkly slamming doors and yelling in the corridors. Smoking in the non-smoking rooms that stink up others rooms.
Also given how big the hotel is, you could spend 10 minutes walking from the reception to your room or to the beach through endless corridors and stairs. No signs or clarifications. Not a big deal though, as long as someone escorts you to the room upon check in so you remember the way.
Seeing cats around the gardens was a lovely addition and a reminder to enjoy yourself.
You’re only informed about paying for the WiFi on check in, written in the information paper. It kept disconnecting though and if you’re unlucky to notice that during the evening hours, there is no help to get in regards to finding a solution.
Staff at the reception were super helpful, almost everyone was friendly. The security guards, life guards and the cleaning staff included.
Location is really good, close to shops, supermarkets and pharmacies and just a short taxi ride to either the airport or the main popular streets.
All in all, I enjoyed the warm sun and swimming in the clean beach, but would definitely have spent more money on a better hotel room, better facilities and food quality.
But thank you again to all the wonderful staff that made my stay pleasant, you can tell they work hard to ensure a pleasant stay for their guests. I am hoping some improvements can be made to the food menues and their rooms. This place has much potential and it’s a shame for it to...
