Scandic Resort Hurghada — Hotel in Red Sea

Unfortunately and unexpectedly I had a terrible experience here. Reservation made through booking.com, the reviews were actually positive but once we arrived there, the receptionists told us they were unable to find our reservation, they didn’t even have a computer to search for it. I hadn’t internet at that moment, the sim was just about to get active - all I had was the reservation number but that wasn’t enough, they wanted to know the owner’s name (owner of what I wondered). I didn’t know the resort worked that way: there’re owners responsible for the room reservation, cleaning and stuff. It took 30 minutes to figure out who the owner was - which I checked it wasn’t even written on the reservation, and once he arrived he took us upstairs and showed us the room. I had never seen anything like that, the room was filthy, remainders of food in the kitchen sink, toilet seat was wet with drops of water, cleaning mops in the shower, hair and body hair everywhere in the bedroom and bathroom, but the worst things that shocked us most were body hair and red spots on the linens. We immediately asked for the linens change with a new clean set. The maid was very kind with us but the new set of linens was as dirty as the first one. We also had to ask for towels which were dirty as well. Outside the room, in the corridor there was dirt here and there. WiFi didn’t work either. We were forced to find a new hotel because for our hygienic standards that condition was...

Wir waren Anfang März 2024 im Scandic Resort Hurghada. Die Anlage bzw. viele der Apartments befinden sich noch im Bau. Dementsprechend gibt es natürlich etwas Baulärm und Verschmutzungen - was sich aber wirklich in Grenzen hielt! Zudem wurden täglich alle Flure geputzt, sodass der Dreck spätestens am nächsten Tag wieder weg war. Der Außenbereich ist fertig und wirklich schön. Vor allem der Strand ist toll und auch gar nicht so steinig, wie viele hier schrieben. Unsere 3 jährige Tochter hatte jedenfalls viel Spaß im Sand zu spielen und da das Wasser sehr lange sehr flach ist, absolut super mit Kindern 👍 Für die, die gerne richtig im Meer schwimmen und schnorcheln wollen, gibt es den langen Steg, an dessen Ende man über eine Treppe ins Wasser kommt. Dann hat man es nicht mehr weit zu dem Korallenriff und dem wirklich tiefen Wasser. So war für alle was dabei 😉 Direkt an den Pools sind Sanitäranlagen und ein Fitnessraum. Außerdem gibt es eine Poolbar, wo man auch schön sitzen kann, mit Blick aufs Meer. Der angrenzende „Spielplatz“ verdient diese Bezeichnung allerdings nicht… zwar ist unsere Tochter ein paar mal gerutscht und hatte Spaß, aber mehr als zwei Rutschen gibt’s da eben auch nicht. Vielleicht wird ja noch nachgerüstet. Die Liegen sind inklusive und es kommt sofort jemand mit Matten für die Liegen und hilft einem. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals war im ganzen Resort stets top 👍 Abzüge gibt es dafür, dass die Pools (entgegen der Beschreibung) nicht beheizt waren, wodurch sie einfach Anfang März viel zu kalt waren - selbst der kleine Kinderpool! Vermutlich werden die Pools erst beheizt, wenn mehr Gäste da sind… Einen weiteren Abzug gibt es für die „baulichen Mängel“. Obwohl das Resort noch ziemlich neu ist, gibt es bereits jetzt überall im Gebäude Abplatzungen des Putzes von den Wänden. Dies ist an sich nicht ungewöhnlich in Hurghada, wegen dem Salz- und Feuchtigkeitsgehalt der Luft, aber dennoch sehr unschön, wenn es ständig überall von der Wand rieselt… Mit anderen Materialien wäre dies vermeidbar gewesen. Auch der Bau der Apartments ist etwas ungünstig, weil man nur die Balkontüre hat und keine weiteren Fenster. Dadurch ist das Lüften fast unmöglich und die Luft schnell abgestanden. Hier hilft zwar die Klimaanlage, aber dennoch ist es einfach sehr dunkel und stickig drinnen… Nichtsdestotrotz kann ich die Anlage empfehlen 👍 Wir hatten zwei sehr schöne Wochen und werden bestimmt nochmal...

Disregard the positive fake reviews from arab people as many own apartments here and need renters 😉 ... as of April 2024, the building was in construction (including weekends) and it has a long stretch ahead before it will be finished... there is constant noise and dust everywhere... managers yell at everyone and disrespect the guests ... people smoke everywhere... cleaning services were not included in the room's cost, they are extra 200 egyptian pounds per cleaning... the beach is a joke with compacted dirt in lieu of sand ... rocky everywhere... water is nice and clear but knee deep by the beach and only hips deep by the end of wood walkway ... not recommend in 2024 ... maybe 2025 if they finish...
