My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and loved every minute of it. Rooms The hotel is designed in such a way that pretty much all rooms are facing the beach, which is fantastic. We got a room with a gorgeous view of the sea and swimming pool area. The rooms feature a large smart TV, which was excellent since we were able to use our phones and project content from them via screen share. There are also TV channels in various languages if you are into that. The rooms feature an air conditioning system, a mini fridge, a safe, an iron, a hairdryer, a water brewer for tea or coffee (tea and coffee are provided by the hotel) and very solid wifi reception. All these things come at no extra charge. The bathroom has a bidet which we loved. In addition to that the bathroom comes with all amenities you would expect from a five star hotel at no extra charge (soap, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, lotion). What was strangely missing were single use tooth brushes and toothpaste, but we brought our own so no problem. Since the water in Hurghada is very hard, the hotel provided us with several bottles of drinking water every day. In addition to all of that the room was cleaned every day, towels were changed and we even got flowers which was really nice. I would have liked a harder pillow, but I am realizing as I am writing this, that the staff would have probably provided one, had I asked for it. In fact we were asked multiple times if everything was to our liking, so I can only blame myself for not asking. Security The hotel features 24h security measures. There is an entry checkpoint and cameras everywhere. The elevator cannot be used without first holding your keycard. You will feel safe in this hotel. Food We booked half-board since we like to visit the city during the day. Breakfast is good with lots of options. What I did find inefficient is that if you want an Omelette or Eggs, you will have to queue up for those. They are made fresh for you, but I've been to hotels where it's just part of the buffet and this way you don't have to wait for it. The upside to waiting is that is this way you get to customize your omelet, but in this case I would have preferred the faster and less customizable option. Dinner is where the restaurant shines. There are lots of options and always one dish which is grilled at the hotel's grill station outside. In addition to that, half-board visitors have two non-alcoholic drinks included with their dinner, which is plenty. Rxpect to see plenty of traditional Egyptian foods as well as international options. The service in the restaurant is just as good as everywhere else in the hotel - these people are professionals and understand the hospitality business. The one thing I would have liked to see more of were mangoes. Strangely enough there were no fresh mangoes to be found, although Egypt is famous for them. Regardless, this is a minor gripe and shows you how good the overall experience is, if all I can think to complain about are mangoes. Beach The beach is private and comes with umbrellas, sunbeds, towels and a little table (free of charge, of course). In addition to that you can also get cocktails and even food brought to you. The hotel restaurants and bars accept credit cards, so you can pay anything that is not covered by your plan (half board doesn't cover beach cocktails, but all in does as far as I know). The beach is beautiful and has fine sand on top of it. The only minor downside is that most of it is artificially made so you can feel a hardness underneath the sand, which is not the case on a natural beach without a concrete base underneath - regardless, this is a very minor complaint. Final thoughts The hotel offers a true 5-star experience. The service is excellent, the hotel itself offers everything you need at your fingertips and is clean and safe at any time of the day. If you just wanted to relax and never leave the hotel, you would have a great time, though I would recommend to explore the city in order to experience the vibrant...
Read moreWe stayed for a week here at the beginning of the end of July. I chose it only for the location, being closer to the city. Otherwise, there are a lot of much more spectacular hotels that offer much more options for fun/relaxation for a vacation with a specific bath/tanning/beach, especially with children. It is true, at slightly higher prices. The area is small and has little greenery compared to other hotels. it’s also not very beautiful, but there are a few bars and restaurants nearby. For the city, you need to take a taxi or Uber. Our room was medium size, clean, equipped with a big sized TV (useless channels, 70% Arabic, the rest German, Russian and just a few in English), a small fridge (two bottles of water/day “from the house” in it,), a safe (free of charge), iron and ironing board. The beds were comfortable and they had the biggest number of pillows I’ve ever seen: 4/person (too many…). The room has a small balcony, with a table and two chairs. Pretty nice sea view but not 180 degrees. Everything seemed wonderful but on the first night the problems appeared: bed bugs. Many people don't have too many problems with bed bugs. But I am allergic and react quite badly. So, in the morning, I woke up with about 7 blisters on me, three of which were on my neck. I asked to change the room, which I got. But the itching and the unpleasant appearance of the bed bugs bites tormented me for a few days. The air-conditioning worked very well. The cleaning in the rooms was done daily. The Wi-Fi worked very bad in all the areas. There are three ATMs in the reception area, from where you can withdraw local currency. The pool is medium size, but not very happily designed. The entrance to the water is through a gently sloping section, paved with shiny, very slippery tiles. I saw several people slipping and falling, especially children. The water was clean and warm. Few umbrellas and sunbeds, not enough for all the customers. There were moments when it was quite crowded, with many noisy children jumping into the water despite the “No diving” signs. There is also a tiny pool for children but no one really uses it. The hotel has a private beach, which is quite small. The beach is sandy, but there is also a part where the sand is mixed with sharp stones at the entrance to the water, which is unpleasant to the feet. The water is very clear, warm and the bottom of the water is sandy and pleasant. There is also a small island, connected to the shore by a short bridge. Here is a bar and a few sunbeds. The restaurant was nice, but not very big and there were times at breakfast when you had to wait a few minutes to find a free table. At breakfast the offer was very varied, I don't think anyone could say they didn't have anything to choose from. The same goes for dinner. Lunch was the worst meal of the day, with the fewest options (and the fewest customers). Any drink, including water, has to be ordered from the waiters and takes a while to get it. And the beer is always a bit warm (including at the bars). All the drinks at the all-inclusive are locally produced, of poor quality, but it's nothing unusual, it's the same at all hotels.
All the dishes have labels with the names in English. There are about five bars, but never all open simultaneously. Some only open in the evening The staff is friendly, for the most part. All in all, an OK hotel but...
Read moreThe hotel is about a 12 minute taxi from the airport. Download the InDrive App and negotiate your fare here (cash only). It cost me 100EGP ~ £1.60. Do not pay the 20USD quoted by the hotel.
The hotel has 3 cash machines, one of which has fee free withdrawals.
The pool was decent, clean and big enough. The sea was a shallow area but was decent for sea swimming.
We went all-inclusive. The food was quite variable and was either tolerable or very good.
Breakfast: best were the freshly made waffles and pancakes, the freshly made omelettes and they had all kinds of breakfast foods available. Lots of bread and pastries, not much variety of fruit.
Lunch: Mostly decent, the freshly made to order pasta (Bolognese) was the best. We were generally not very hungry for lunch so didn't eat much.
Dinner: It was varied each day but there was a theme e.g. beef day, fish day, bird day. The best were the stuffed quails, freshly bbqed whole fish, bbqed chicken skewers. The desserts were mostly poor due to lack of interest in Egyptian dessert and frozen mini cakes. Unless you like custard based desserts, in which case there were a few good ones.
The service was generally not great, the meal time staff were hard working but very stretched, the bar staff were more laid back and not proactive. All preferred to serve the paying customers before the all-inclusive guests which was understandable but it could have been less obvious.
The air conditioning in the room is very loud, ear plugs are needed.
The drinks included cocktails/non-cocktails, local wines, local beer and softdrinks, tea and coffee and carton juices. They were all okay. The cocktail/mock-cocktails were hit or miss.
We enjoyed having tea in the evening as a last drink, the staff would claim to have a range of teas but it became obvious they that would run out of a particular type of tea and the staff did not bother to refill it so decided to serve us something that looked similar and walked away before I could question it.
The hotel itself was slightly dated but nothing to complain about.
We went to the gym a couple of times and tried out the weight machines, cross trainer and treadmill. We also tried out Tennis for 30 mins which cost was 230EGP (rackets, balls, court and lighting). Both were very quiet in...
