Visited this hotel from 17/03/25 to 24/03/25. On arrival to the hotel looks really impressive, itâs huge, we were quite excited getting off the coach, however, we didnât quite enjoy it as much as other holidays weâve had.
Reception Arrived at the hotel around 22:00. Entering the hotel reception we were asked to sit at a table and hand over our passports. About 15/20 minutes later we were handed our room keys, a map and were asked to wait outside the reception for a worker to take us to our room. The chap that picked us up was probs ily the friendless person we came across in the whole time we were there. He pointed out where everything was en-route to our room, on the other side of the resort (MidWay point).
Rooms The first room we were given (5063 I think) wasnât great. The room was filthy, my 2 yr old daughter ran around the room in her socks for literally 2 minutes and her socks were near black. The whole place was quite disgusting. Faces around the toilet and the waste pipe was horrid, curtain broken, air con sounded like it wanted to take off.. The rooms are really basic and dull. Literally just beds and fitted furniture. We asked the chap who dropped us off for a cot, when that arrived I was gobsmacked. It looked like it had been dragged out a jumble sale from 1950, wobbly & splintered. In the end we decided to go to reception. I showed them the pictures I had taken, they were aggressively helpful (if that makes sense), the first response was to clean the room, however, my daughter had fallen asleep in her pram by this time and there was no way she was sleeping in the cot provided. I explained to the guy at reception, I wasnât staying in that room.. In the end, they agreed to move us to another room (2144). Got to this room, and the cards didnât work, so had to wait another 10 minutes to be let in. The room was better kept, cleaner, however, still had dirty floors and a bit dusty but by this time it was 23:45 and we didnât have the energy to go back and complain. The room was better suited for my daughter, as it had a single bed we could sleep her in, with a makeshift barrier so she didnât roll out. The mini bar was empty, I asked reception to bring some water and milk, which they did. The only bits you get on a daily basis is water. Milk has to be obtained from one of the bars, if youâre not close to one, youâll have to walk for ages to get a carton of milk. None alcoholic drinks (apple/orange juices are not provided for the rooms and are an âextra chargeâ according to bar staff at the front of our room, even though we were all inclusive.
Staff As mentioned earlier, the only person who was friendly was the chap who took us to the first room, bar him every other member of the staff in the bars, the restaurants, the reception, pools were pretty miserable, they just looked unhappy. Many times Iâd go to get a drink and a staff member would be on his phone, which I found to be a bit rude.
Restaurants Not a great deal to choose from in each of the restaurants, however you can pop in to any one of them during lunch/dinner and grab what you want from each. Would be better if there was a bigger selection of food to choose from. The burger place (Rocking Burger) was good and the Indian restaurant at the top of the reception building was also really good.
Toilets The hotel mainly employed men, so when females go to the toilets make members of staff can also be in there cleaning, which I find a bit disturbing. One staff member on the first night we were there asked my daughterâs mum who she was there with. Creepy.
Pools The heated pools would have been good if they were actually heated. Whisky we were there, it was pretty windy for a couple of days, so going in the pools was a no go. Some pools with water slides donât have any sun loungers around the pools, just plastic chairs and umbrellas stuck in the ground.
Facilities The facilities were great. Plenty for kids of all ages to do. No...
Read moreDisgusting experience I have ever had . my extreme dissatisfaction with the experience my family and I had at the Pickalbatros Jungle Neverland Hurghada Resort during our recent stay. We had booked a holiday for 4 guests, including 3 adults and one child, through the Stay for Long website and had paid in full prior to our arrival. This holiday was especially important to us as we were celebrating my 3-year-old son's birthday, for which we had saved for over 6 months.
However, upon our arrival on the 10th of June after a gruelling 2-day journey involving a flight from London to Cairo and a car ride to Hurghada, we were met with humiliation and embarrassment. The hotel staff informed us that due to my brother holding a Syrian passport, he would be required to pay an additional fee of 270 euros, citing this as a policy of Stay for Long. We promptly contacted Stay for Long, who confirmed that they do not require any additional charges and have already received the payment in full. Therefore, any additional charges were solely at the discretion of the hotel.
Despite our attempts to reason with the hotel receptionist, Umar, and subsequently the manager, Mohsen, we were met with rudeness, dismissiveness, and outright lies. It was unacceptable to be treated in such a manner, especially on such a special occasion for our family. We were made to feel unwelcome and humiliated throughout the entire ordeal, which lasted for hours on end. Additionally, my son threw up twice that morning from exhaustion, and the staff were unsympathetic to his condition.
In addition, I noticed that our passports and passport printouts, as well as those of other guests, were left visible to all at the reception desk. This is a clear violation of GDPR regulations regarding the handling of personal data.
When we raised this issue with the receptionist, Umar, he dismissed our concerns by stating that this is how the hotel operates. I had to insist that he turn over the documents to ensure that they were no longer visible to other guests.
I trust that you will take immediate action to address this breach and ensure that all staff receive proper training on GDPR compliance. Our privacy and security should be of the utmost importance, and such oversights cannot be tolerated.
We were already distressed when a man representing Alliance approached us, demanding an additional fee for my brother. It became clear that Mohsen had asked this third-party member to handle our situation and then disappeared for three hours. This lack of professionalism and communication, along with the continuous demands for payment, left us feeling humiliated and frustrated, particularly on my son's birthday and when my son threw up twice that morning from exhaustion, the staff were unsympathetic to his condition. Such behaviour does not meet the standards of professionalism we expect from a hotel.
Furthermore, we were told that if we did not pay the additional fee, the room would no longer be available as they were fully booked. This added pressure and stress to an already difficult situation.
After hours of back and forth and being misled by the hotel staff, we were coerced into paying the additional fee that we did not budget for or could afford on a credit card as we were left with no other choice, having not slept for over 30 hours and being emotionally drained by the entire situation. This experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a joyous holiday for us, which we had been eagerly anticipating for months. The lack of transparency, the unprofessional behaviour of the staff left us feeling cheated and...
