bob marley homestay — Hotel in Red Sea

I'm a solo female leisure traveler, who resided at Bob Marley Inn for 3 weeks extended stay.

Location: a very quiet residential neighborhood, away from honking and constant chatter of the busy streets. Its set on a high hill. I loved the height of the view from my window, and quite often would lounge watching birds play on the building across, or dogs & kitties climb and roam along the cliffside.

Room: was larger than I expected. Enough room for a yoga mat or prayer rug. I'm a 5'6" plus size girl, I was able to comfortably stretch out on the bed. Bed is very firm, balanced, & stable, pillow is a body pillow, which I loved...as I sleep with one at home. There is hanging storage, shelving & a bedside table. No lock on the door to either room, but you don't need it. I always felt safe there. I left my expensive MSI gaming laptop, tablet, purse, etc just lying around all the time with Khaled. Fresh Sheet & pillowcase were changed every couple days, didn't have to ask.

Bathroom: the water pressure is phenomenal! Better than the fancy one I have at home. The tile is clean enough to walk around barefoot, I didn't notice any cracks in the large tile, and it looks new. Khaled is very clean, like....OCD clean. He mops it daily. Every few days he gave me new towel, never had to ask. He takes great care of his guests.

Free Breakfast & Meal Plan:  Breakfast is very filling & the tea is amazing. I chose for Khaled to cook authentic meals for me everyday instead of going out all the time. I am soooo glad I did!!! 5 ☆ star chef and i saved a ton not dining out everyday. He has many recipes & variations on dishes so you never get bored. I had something different almost every day.

Host: Khaled is a superhost, as per his reviews on Booking.  People are NOT exaggerating. He goes above and beyond to make your time exactly as you like, & according to your wishes. I desired leisure, peace and quiet...and I got exactly that. I was not once harassed by him, or pressured to do anything. And he always included me & offered suggestions if I was unsure.  I have seen him do exceptional things for locals: helping ladies put their babies in taxis, or letting a neighbour borrow pots, to feeding a kitty who comes to the door for food. He is kind, respectful, and a gentlemen. As a solo woman, I always felt very safe there alone with Khaled.

Locals: I found the locals to be extremely friendly, kind and pleasant. I did not get harassed or hassled not one-time, which was amazing. I find they try to include you in conversations, they are very friendly and welcoming. Smiles were on most faces. Even at the airport, coming and leaving...i was treated with kindness and respect always.

Tips: Don't book your tours & trips until you talk to Khaled! Not just saying that, i learned....He has many friends all over the city, and he will find you the best price for the season. The private beach he uses,...

Adam is the most caring and friendly host you can find anywhere. He helps with literally anything you could need during your stay. On top Adam is a super chef, he cooked nearly every day very nice Egyptian food for us and we just shared the expenses for it. You can even tell him what you want and he will get it at the market for a local price. Also I recommend you booking all your trips and bus tours with Adam, as he knows many people and gets cheap prices. I went to see the dolphins and he made sure i get on a boat with a nice crew, the entire day was just awesome! I stayed at Bob Marley Homestay for 2 weeks and just had a really authentic experience of Egypt and a great time in general, so i will always...

Khalid the man who rents the rooms is psycho! Some times is very polite and some times very violent! Because I could not find the house, he said that I am a stupid mf! And he was shouting! Then because I wanted to buy a cheap oil he became angry! I asked him if he becomes angry with others also. And he said that he pressed the face of an American on the floor because he said: I am an American!!! And I say that he is psychologically sick because in his mind he has the right to be violent when the other makes a mistake. I became afraid and I was very careful of what I was saying and after 3 days he helped to find another room. So actually he helped me to some practical things but it is very difficult to...
