I recently had the unfortunate experience in this restaurant, and I must say, it was quite disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I could sense an air of unwelcomeness that permeated the atmosphere. The staff members appeared to be utterly disinterested in providing any form of hospitality, and it felt as though I was intruding on their personal space.
Arriving for an early dinner, I hoped to have a pleasant meal and perhaps even find a solution to my phone's dying battery. However, any hopes of a positive experience were quickly dashed as I attempted to seek assistance. It was almost as if the staff were intentionally avoiding eye contact, and when I finally managed to ask for help, their response was nothing short of disdainful. The lack of willingness to even make a minimal effort to provide a charging solution left me utterly frustrated.
To add insult to injury, I hesitated to even request the Wi-Fi password for my laptop, fearing another unpleasant encounter. The fear of being met with more hostility was an unexpected and unwelcome aspect of my cafe experience. It's disheartening to note that the waitress who attended to me was among the rudest I've encountered in Finland, a country where most of the staffs are super rude or awkward to speak to.
While it's unfortunate to generalize, I couldn't help but reflect on the broader trend I've noticed in Finland. The prevalence of unwelcoming and discourteous staff in cafes and restaurants seems to be a recurring issue, and this particular establishment was no exception. It's worth noting that exceptional service can turn an ordinary meal into a memorable one, and regrettably, this restaurant fell far short of that mark. Could not tell if the "Kana Feta Salad" I ordered was too sour or the rudeness.
In conclusion, my visit to this restaurant was unpleasant by the rude and indifferent attitude of the staff. I left feeling disheartened and frustrated, with a strong desire to never return. It's my hope that the management takes steps to address these issues, as a change in attitude and service quality could potentially turn this establishment's reputation around. Until then, I would caution others seeking a pleasant cafe experience to consider...
Read moreI'm relatively stingy with my ratings but I think three stars is generous here. Sharing a common negative theme with some other popular cafes in the area - that is that most of my breakfast was store bought and placed on a plate.
The orange juice, jams, butter, cheese, salami, yoghurt all came from the grocery store. The pastries, rye bread and croissants maybe did as well but they were warmed slightly and still delicious. The local groceries do have delicious pastries as well so I couldn't complain about this.
It's a filling and satisfying breakfast nevertheless and I wasn't leaving hungry. The coffee tastes good as well and they give an extra refill for free, again a bit stingy considering the price. Unlimited black coffee should be standard.
How can they do better? Start making some of the condiments in house. I'd love to see a variety of unique jams or marmalades, or fresh churned butter. It's small things like this that can elevate...
