Short of words to describe this place. A nice and cozy hall with table and chairs. The deck faces the forest and the view was amazing. Free fire wood (stored across the street near rest room), barbecue place and dry toilet facilities are there. Toilet is not great and not recommended. We stayed there the whole night looking for the mighty Northern Lights. On our 4 day trip we were there all the 4 days looking for the Northern Lights. We finally saw the mighty on the last day!!! Best place to see the northern lights if the sky is clear.

It's a hut about 800meters from hiking trails & routes departure point.Route is well marked & lit.It's beautiful way till hut crossing one river. Hut has fenced flatform to stand and see the northern lights.There is warm room with few benches and fireplace to rest during waiting many hours in freezing night.WC facility is also available there. Fireplaces are there outside hut also.Its free of cost.It's very safe to go there.

Great public place for stoping after a walk. During the night there is a place where you can warm yourself while you try to catch northern lights, the only problem is that it’s very crowded and many tourists are loud, use flashes and do not respect the peace of this hut in the middle of the forest.

Amazing.

Take a 15 minute walk up the hill from Saariselka. The woodland is beautiful with many birds and other animals pottering about. There are firepits (at night) and logs stored in the cabin to keep these fires stocked up. The aurora hut itself has a warming room with a fire and plenty of seating, there are public toilets too. Bring marshmallows, skewers and mulled wine.

This place was one of my highlights of coming to Lapland and I spent 3 hours up here staring at the sky on two consecutive nights. It's not called the aurora hut for no reason ;) it was out two...
