We have been coming to this great hotel for the last 20 years, so when I saw 2 negative reviews among all the other excellent ones I just had to write this. Before I say anything else, I have said for years, (and the rest of my family agree) that the French Fries here are the best Fries I have ever tasted in the world (and I have been to a lot of restaurants and eaten a lot of fries)! Having got that said the hotel is on the opposite side of the piste to the road so if you are staying here you have to park your car, (there is an underground car park) and phone the hotel. They will send a Snow Cat across the piste to collect you and your luggage. This has been great fun and amusement for our children from when they were little to teenagers and still enjoyed now they are grown ups.||The hotel is run by Fabrice & Valérie Bonnet and was run by his mother and father before. They are kind, honest, friendly and hard working and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The first year we stayed, when our children were very small, our son particularly enjoyed a bottled raisin drink and when we left they gave him a package with 6 bottles and an opener as a present. They continued to do this until my son was old enough to start drinking beer! That is how generous they are. Many staff have been with them for years and warmly greet us when we return. The rooms are rustic chalet style and they have upgraded and improved the hotel every year. Now many of the rooms have Jacuzzi baths installed, a real treat after a hard days skiing. The food is fabulous, breakfasts are home made croissants with freshly squeezed orange juice or you can have eggs and bacon cooked to order. Lunchtimes are really busy especially on sunny days, you must book if you want lunch on the sun deck or in the conservatory. You regularly see tables of ski instructors or pisters, they would not be there unless it was good!||Diner for residents is a 5 course treat, starting with a large terrine of home made soup, a starter, main course, cheese and desert or desert and cheese if you prefer it the English way, just ask. If you do not like any of the set courses they will provide something to your liking. They have a very large Salon for the residents to relax in, play games, drink coffee, read or just watch the glass sided log fire in the centre of the room. If you are looking for the best ski experience without paying 5 star prices and a relaxed friendly atmosphere in to the bargain...
Read moreWe have been skiing in the 3 vallees for over 10 years and have no regrets to recommend this as best accommodation ever. It is family run and every member of staff was friendly and helpful to us - a credit to the hospitality business. Meals were fantastic. 4 course dinner for half board. These were taken in the traditional savoyard restaurant but there is also casual modern style small cafe called Cookie Club offering pizza and snacks. You could eat lunch inside or out on the terrace overlooking Meribel. Hotel is ski in and out with a spacious boot room. It is located just above the Adret chair and just below Rhodos gondola and Rond Pont where you can catch the free shuttle bus into Meribel centre. For luggage transport or shaky pedestrians the small snow at will transport you to the road where it is a few minutes walk ( through the car park)to ski hire shops, the Ronnie and the bus stops.||When not skiing the hotel lounge is lively and spacious with a log fire and free wi fi. Downstairs there is a tv and games room ( pool, table football etc )also sauna which we did not use. We cannot find any fault at all. We...
Read moreWe went there with 2 other families (total 15 persons)....and we will most probably go back next year!||This is a small cocoon type of top 3 stars chalet/hotel. Everything is done to please the clients... The owners as well as the staff are just lovely. ||It is located in the middle of the ski slopes, the restaurant is THE place the skiers of Meribel go to during lunch time to get the famous escalope, it is quit (some might say isolated but unless you are a party animal it is just perfectly located), the evening atmosphere is lovely around the fire in the typical family type living room.||The 23 rooms (all different) are luxurious without being too posh.||The food is excellent and even if you take their full/half board the owners will accommodate when you want to change something on the menu.||This place is graded 3 stars but is far better than some 4 stars hotels...
