DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! terrible condition, rude and also promised that we would be reimbursed financially, and then when I said that I wouldn't change my review/rating on Booking.com they said that they wouldn't reimburse me, so in effect, tried to blackmail me into leaving a good review (see issues below)
Room/ facilities Condition: The room I was assigned, was in an unacceptable state. Below are some of the issues we came across:
The shower head was broken and laying in the bath, so you had to hold it above your head with one hand, and then try to shower one handed.
There was a significant amount of mould in the bathroom.
There were long black hairs on the pillows provided.
The bathroom towel radiator was broken, and live wires were visible, which is dangerous.
The gate code we were given (5050) did not work, so we could not use the parking provided.
The room was cold, no heating had been left on, we turned the heating on when we arrived, but the first night was very cold, as there was only 1 small electric radiator, which took a while to get hot.
The “Spa” and swimming facilities were shut.
The entranceway and decor of the building was extremely dated and run down.
The bed mattress was rock hard, and gave both me, and my partner severe back pain.
I have taken the liberty to attach images of some of the issues stated.
Service Quality: The customer service we received during my stay was very disappointing. Upon arrival, I rang the number provided (+33 4 79 06 32 97 and + 33 4 69 96 04 04) to explain about the room, and the issues we were having with the gate not working. The man I spoke to did not apologise, he simply said, the gate works, but I will check and call you back. He then never rang us back. Eventually I got a phone call at 11:10am on 24/09/2024 from the same man (+33 4 79 06 32 97). He asked us if we had left the room, and if we had left the key in the security box which we had. As soon as I told him that we had left the key, he said “thankyou” and hung up. No mention of our earlier issues, no mention of any resolutions, or compensation and certainly, he didn’t ask us how...
Read moreWe are a group of 4 guys in our early 20s and go skiing every January when prices are cheapest. We generally book the cheapest accommodation possible and have stayed in some utter dumps in our time.||I have seen a few horribly negative reviews about cleanliness, deposits not being returned, rude staff and the pool being broken and I just want to add a bit of positivity and say that it's nowhere near as bad as these people make out. ||Firstly, while the hotel doesn't have modern decor, the hotel is certainly clean and we came across no dirty sheets or mattresses as reported in other reviews. ||The staff were always particularly helpful (Helene was great) and made us feel welcome during our stay. ||I'm terms of deposits, we booked through sunweb and before arriving we believed that our room required a €500 deposit as this is what was stated online. We were happy to hear on arrival to the hotel that the deposit was in fact only €200. We got all of our deposit back at the end of our stay. I think as long as you are respectful during your stay and leave your room clean and tidy for the next guests then you'll get your deposit back. ||The heated outdoor pool and sauna was open daily from 5pm to 7:30pm and after a long hard day's skiing it was really cool to get the weight off our legs and float about in the pool surrounded by mountains. It was great to have luxury facilities like this in a hotel at this price range. ||Chalets de solaise are definitely aimed at the budget conscious in Val d'isere however for us we found there was absolutely nothing wrong. Val d'isere is an incredibly expensive place and accommodation like this is the only reason we could afford to enjoy one of the best resorts in the world. I'd say if you are looking for anything lavish and luxurious or are coming with kids then you should probably look...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!! This place is just so awful. We made a last minute booking and despite seeing other bad reviews decided to give it a go as there was very little available in the area. We made the booking at 10am for an arrival that day at 3pm. When we arrived we found out there was no linen, no bedding at all and no towels. We were later informed that we had to pre book linen 24hrs in advance. This was not possible as we booked the same day. We contacted the number that was given to us via Expedia, however the message was in French and unfortunately my French isn't great, so we weren't sure what it was saying. We did end up speaking to a man who eventually answered but he wasn't very helpful and said there was nothing he could do to help and that we should have booked linen 24hrs in advance ??. We asked if we could get a refund as we needed a bed with linen, or at least a blanket as it was only 7 degrees! He refused and in the end we spoke to Expedia whom we booked through and they were able to re accommodate us and were very sympathetic. The place itself was at the back of an old building, it was very dirty, there was construction going on above, a jack hammer was drilling the whole hour we were there, but to be honest, that wasn't the issue, it was the fact we had no bedding at all and weren't able to get anything delivered because of their policies, yet they were happy to take a last minute booking. We are now staying in a very comfortable hotel in another area for half the price, it wasn't very convenient having to drive 2 hours to get here, but we had no choice and I want anyone thinking about booking this place to reconsider. I wish I had taken the reviews I read...
