The food here at this wine bar is delightful, beautifully prepared, delivered and very tasty. However, you won’t get a chance to eat the food unless you order wine too. On explaining my partner and I were both in sobriety and therefore were uncomfortable ordering alcohol, we promptly got lectured by the owner, somewhat aggressively and only slightly apologetically, while he told us (in rather a rant-like way) that he’d invested €100,000 in the place with “the best wines of the region,” (and I’m sure they are). However, instead of simply adding a surcharge of €20 to our bill, which I would completely respect and understand, he literally made us sit with two glasses of wine in front of us. Not terribly comfortable for two people in sobriety who would much rather have paid a surcharge. A surcharge would have been full profit but he “lost” two glasses of wine instead, to his staff! Other patrons were equally forcibly told to leave if they weren’t ordering wine. I saw two tables leave in the first 5 minutes. None of this is made clear outside, (“it says wine bar! Not restaurant” he moaned) and probably should be. I’ll help him out here instead: order wine - or leave. Perhaps...
