We returned yesterday from a quick four day ski trip. The White Chalet is conveniently situated for easy access to the surrounding slopes. Argentiere has a basic nursery slope, and then mostly reds and blacks. Le Tour, a five minute drive away is great for all levels with fabulous greens and a blue at the bottom of the mountain. ||The Chalet rooms are adequate and there is plenty of hot water with strong showers. The rooms were not serviced at all during our stay.||We opted for the breakfast each morning. This was very average at best. Simply a slice of cheese, a slice of ham, a croissant ( from the oven not fresh from the boulangerie), a boiled egg, a yogurt, a slice of "floppy" brown bread toast and a choice of three different cereals. Two different fruit juices, a bowl of fruit was available and fresh coffee. This was more than enough and for us mostly convenient, however at 12 euros each, highly over priced. The breakfast was precisely the same every morning. ||The house keeper spoke some French and a very little English. Do not mistake her blunt abrupt manner as being rudeness. She was actually very kind and accommodating. ||On the last day, one of our girls dropped the room key behind a bookcase. The housekeeper intimated it was no problem and she simply used the spare key. Five minutes later she came and told us that her bosses ( they live in the chalet next door) had said we need to pay 20 Euros !! in case the key could not be found. Everybody know it doesn't cost more than a few Euros to cut a new key. We thought this was somewhat greedy....

Read moreStayed here for three nights. We had rooms 2 and 5 which were twin rooms overlooking the mountains.||The rooms were nice enough. I thought it was a bit odd they didn't have any curtains but on the last morning I found that there were shutters we could have used.||Breakfast was really odd. Instead of just putting everything out so we could help ourselves, the non-speaking housekeeper insisted on us making an appointment for breakfast and then nagged us until we sat down. There was no baguette or croissants just yesterday's sliced bread. It took us 3 days to get her to produce a box of normal tea bags. She didn't even bother to put the plates or cutlery on the table. On the plus side the meats and cheeses were nice and the scrambled eggs she made were the best ever.||After skiing we asked for a cup of tea... She told us it was €1.50 per cup. I've never stayed anywhere where tea making facilities weren't part of the package. ||So overall, it does the job but...
