Were looking forward to eating out after a few days of hiking. It's always difficult to pick a restaurant when you're traveling and unfamiliar at a place, something can turn out a great surprise or disaster tourist trap. Unfortunately this was the latter. We were hungry and chose a 3-course menu with fondue as main course. The fondue was separated, with chunks of cheese at the bottom and fluid on top. When asking a waiter, she went back to the kitchen and came back with the same. Also, we were explained at the beginning when we were doubting between raclette and fondue, that they both came with the same extras: charcuterie and salad, and of course bread. But when we asked about the charcuterie when our food was served, we were told that was not included at the fondue when it was part of a menu, only the salad was. Finally, very poor table service; we had to wait for cutlery quite some time after the food was served and after reminding the waiters; we had to wait long after we finished a course before they took the plates away; and we finished our first drink during the first course but were never asked if we wanted another drink and the empty glasses remained on the table...

WORST place to go ever! Cold and awful welcome from all the staff. Big manager guy with glasses screaming at clients, looking down on them, so much irrespect. They’re not polite at all what’s going on here?!

Can’t judge the food at all we left very quickly. We’re on holidays and we thought we were being arrested by the police for an horrible crime. Makes no sense, how could you act like this?

But here’s what I found out: it looks like manager and his son/friend waiter (don’t really know their relationship) love more their brand new Porsche than clients!! Moreover they’re using the Hotel’s parking that has nothing to do at all with the...

We had a great meal here - one of our best in Chamonix - and we had many! Service excellent from the whole team and the sommelier especially. I would say traditional Savoyard with a modern twist. The food was excellent but the escargot were a bit strange - served out of shells with various accompaniments. It was nice to have some vegetables and greens with the dishes. Gravadlax excellent as was the pork chop and the fish of the day. And some lovely wines. Overall great.

We enjoyed the €30 set menu, with a nice salad, then cheese fondue and cheese desert. Lovely bottle of dry white wine as recommended by waiter (Saint-Romane €44). Daughter had escargot then duck main, son just had cheese fondue. Overall lovely meal for 4 costing €165. Food on other tables looked great too. Busy restaurant despite quiet week in resort.
