Le Rencard — Restaurant in Bonneville

Ate there once and it was ok from what I remember although nothing outstanding. Unfortunately recently haven't even got a chance to order... nothing worse than a waitress welcoming you with unhappy face that seams like doing her job is simply to much to ask. I took kids 3 and 6 years old to for lunch to crémerie but it wasn't open for summer yet so we've tried to find another place to rest and eat. We had our puppy with us, so the first thing directed at us getting a table outside was 'the dog has to be attached!' Me 'yeah sure 1 second' to which she shouted 'NOW!!!' I sat the kids down put a bottle of water on the table and attached the dog to the table where he passed out right away. But Poline wasn't done with me yet, before we even had a chance to have a look at the menu and order she started to patronize me that 'this is not acceptable I have to pay and this is not a picnic!!!' I didn't understand at first to pay for what?! I will pay for what we will have but so far she haven't even offer us anything and the kids were tired/thirsty/hungry and the only other person at the next table had a carafe of tap water that iam pretty sure no one pays for. I worked in hospitality myself for at least 15years and can't imagine welcoming anyone like this just due to the fact that you can't be bothered serving a table with kids. Never had such a bad experience in any of the restaurants in chamonix and certainly will never get close to this place again. We obviously left, just couldn't be around such a grumpy staff, she probably thought we were just passing tourist ;) well... Stone bar just up the road will always be Argentiere's...

Visited the resturant with a group of 5 friends at the end of a hectic travel day and this was the only place open in the area. Had a pathetic experience and very rude service and would not recommend this place at all. We had a lovely time in Chamonix for the entire duration except this resturant experience.

We requested for a table outside but they refused to accommodate an extra chair or join tables despite have vacancy saying we only allow tables of 4 outside. This was at the time indoor seating was made very hot without any ventilation and we really needed seating with some air. The server was very rude in the entire communication and treated us as illiterate individuals who are unable to understand English.

Post this we requested for a menu to browse veg options to ensure we had something decent to eat. We were refused a menu saying they will provide it only when all members are on the table. Few of my friends were delayed in joining us as they were sorting out locks in our accomdation. After a long travel day we wanted to be able to order a meal in the restaurant before its closing time but they refused to take in any kind of request.

We are regular customers at this restaurant however we had a very disappointing experience today. We arrived at the restaurant a bit before 8 pm, and ordered our drinks and meal. Around us there were groups of tourists who were being served their orders. To note that We have a secondary residence 100 metres from this restaurant so we have been here frequently. We waited for the first course for almost an hour- then asked the server where the food was and were told that it was in the oven. We had not ordered anything that would be prepared in the oven. 20 minutes later we again asked if the food would be served soon, again we were told it was in the oven and would be served soon. It never was. After waitng for close to 1,5 hours we left the restaurant. The staff tried to stop us from leaving, asking us ro pay for the wine. Sorry- substandard service in France does not merit paying for the aperitifs. Very...
