The Art Hotel is in a side street, right around the corner from the end of Ave. General de Gaulle. At that end of the avenue also stands the house in which Albert Schweitzer was born. - The hotel is small, with three or so categories of rooms (according to size and location). Ours was Room No. 5 (upper middle range price), quite spacious with a view to the back of the hotel. The arrangement was unusual: the WC was in a separate room, but the bathroom/washing area was part of the main room. A double sink was directly accessible from the main room. To the right of it, with a kind of milk glass separation from the main room was a quite spacious shower area, with a tiled floor, even level with the sink and main room area. This turned out to be very convenient and really quite private. A nice room. -- The hotel offers a small, but quite nice breakfast buffet at an addition 10 Euro/person. While there are boulangeries quite close to the hotel (with croissants, pastries, etc), it would be difficult to find a place offering a breakfast that Americans, British or Continental guests might be used to. So we did sign up for the buffet breakfast (notice must be given the evening before) and were quite pleased with it. -- We had been to Kaysersberg before but hadn't discovered this hotel. We are glad we did this time and really do...
Read moreThis hotel is in a great location in a beautiful area. The rooms are decent, clean but somewhat outdated, with wifi but no other amenities. The big problem with this hotel is that there is no service. There was no one to greet us when we arrived, and when we rang the bell for service a teenager arrived who seemed to not know how to help us. He just handed us our room key with no other information, such as where to park our car, breakfast ect. We just figured every thing out on our own. At no point at any time during our 3 night stay did we see any one at reception. On one occasion we had a question and rang the bell at the front desk for assistance and another teenager came out from somewhere who didn't know the answer to our question. He also told us to keep our car in the parking lot across the street without worry, but didn't mention that a market happens every Monday morning in this lot. Luckily at the last minute I thought to double...
Read moreNobody at reception when we arrived at 1340. No call bell and only a recording in French when dialing the phone number on note at desk. Found someone working and she informed us Check-in was at 1500 and to come back then. Our booking.com confirmation showed a 1400 Check-in, and either was fine to actually get room but we were hoping to just drop off our bags at least, but had to take them back to car. No towels in room later. Next day there was a call button at desk when we checked out, so they have one just didn’t want to be bothered the day before. The 2 staff that we interacted with were not courteous or...
