SCAM SCAM SCAM I went for holiday in this house with my friends and family. We were 10 adults and 6 kids. We booked it through booking but the owner messaged us privately asking if we could cancel the reservation on booking and book it directly to their website just so they don’t have to pay any fee to booking and we accepted.
It was supposed to be 6 bedrooms with private bathroom accordingly to the description on the website. We told them that we have 6 kids and they said that they will provide beds to all kids.
Our check-in was supposed to be at 4pm. We got there about 4:30 and the place was so dirty and there was only one guy washing tables outside with hose. When we questioned about the cleaning standard he said: this is the house, I don’t know what you expected but this isn’t Hilton Hotel. And he add, if you’re not happy with cleaning standard clean it yourself because I won’t do it. After a massive argument, we said that won’t stay and we demand our money back to leave. He then decided to clean the house about 6pm.
3 rooms didn’t have any bed at all and he brought the beds about 10pm. Construction work was not finished, plenty of tiles missing, electric sockets uncovered, doors without lock, window covered with acrylic that couldn’t be open, etc. To make it worst there was only one bathroom and one Brocken toilet, not on suit bathroom for each room as mentioned on the description. When we questioned him about it he said that he has hose outside and men could use that to take shower outside and women and kids could use bathroom! About the Brocken toilet we had to figure it out how to use it as it was.
On the first floor we had massive hole, about 50cm square, that went from one bedroom to another. Jacuzzi was powered by extension cable that come from bathroom trough the window, not safe at all especially with kids around!
The pool and jacuzzi was dirty, we asked him if he could change the water and he promptly said no, we asked if he could clean it at least and after huge argument he decided to come and clean it the day after.
On top of it, we didn’t had the keys for the door simple because the lock was broken! He had to left window open all the times we went out and jump the window when we back to get into the property.
This is all things that he could control and he had plenty of time to get it sorted because we booked almost 2 months in advance but for some reason he chooses no to.
Here I’m going to make list of other things that they can’t control but also contributed for this horrible experience! The house is located in the industrial area with builder store behind the house. Thea area is very windy and the sand from the construction store is everywhere. Impossible to eat outside, sometimes was difficult to even sit there. Not to mention that they starts working from 7am and noise won’t let you sleep.
We were so annoyed and we didn’t want to stay there anymore but we all live in the different country and we haven’t seen each other for ages and we really wanted to spend that week together and it’s was too late to find somewhere else to stay.
Before our check out, we cleaned everything and we called him to come and look around the house. After checking everything carefully and then said that everything was fine and unlock our deposit funds.
Surprisingly, 2 weeks after, God knows how, w”he took €1500 from the account arguing that we broke one bed. All beds were old, dirty and we left it exactly how we found it!

We were travelling from various places, including from UK and Switzerland to France. We have made a reservation for a property with six rooms for seven days.
We arrived at the property in the following conditions.
A house full of dust due to having tremendous construction work at the back of the property, and the house itself was in construction work (the owner did not disclose this prior) Bedrooms were not ready to be occupied because all of them were full of dust, and others with no bed in the room (inadmissible) Jacuzzi and Swimming pool were dirty, and the owner refused at first to clean them, but eventually, we persuaded him to clean it because we expect that customers must be able to use it in clean conditions for the price we paid (it was not adequately cleaned so we decided to clean it by ourselves) Jacuzzi had a risk of hazard because cables were everywhere, and we had kids in the house playing (zero attention to safety) Some of the bedrooms had holes in the walls; however, one in specific had a massive hole that you could see inside the room next to it (again inadmissible) 2 doors handlers were not working correctly, and eventually, one of the kids in the house got stuck in one of the rooms, so someone had to go through the big hole to open the door one of the rooms had a screen to mimic an actual window, but it took all the privacy in the bedroom (we have photos to prove it) The house had only 1 toilet for 6 bedrooms when he advertised that each bedroom had a private bathroom (we have proof) The bathroom didn't have the screen glass to prevent water from coming out of the shower (we had to constantly clean it) Customer service was poor, and the house owner was rude
At the end of our stay, the house owner started to message us, claiming that we had broken a bed when the bed was already with a defect. He claimed that we broke the door handler, which was broken already.
The house owner knew that the house didn’t have fair conditions, and because of that, he even promised he wouldn’t touch on the deposit money and laughed, saying: “Only if you break the walls”. However, he took us 1500 euros anyway.
We are disputing with our provider to get the money back, and we are ready to take the case to the police if needed.

Read moreWe went to La Grande Motte with another couple who had been there the previous year to celebrate the wife’s birthday. The arrangements were made by her husband and I have to admit that we would not have chosen such a place ourselves so my review should be read with that in mind. I knew he had made the reservation largely with price in mind so we were already slightly apprehensive, and when we were shown into the room and found it was effectively a bed-sit with a sofa that doubled as the bed I was rather horrified. Nevertheless we were only going to spend two nights and there was not much we could do about it.||||For someone booking here deliberately I think it probably satisfies the requirements. It has a small kitchen area with cooker, micro-wave, washing up machine and fridge, and sufficient plates, cups, cutlery etc for a couple. The room has air-conditioning, but there were no instructions and it was quite difficult to work out how to adjust it. We were there at the end of September so it was cool enough not to bother and I discovered how to turn it off. The fridge was fairly noisy, and as we didn’t need it I turned that off too. There is a washing machine on site; it has a small swimming pool, and free on-street parking opposite. It is right on the beach.||||There was no shelf in the toilet to put things like a toothbrush on, so everything has to be balanced precariously around the rim of the basin. The basin tap had good water pressure, but the downside of that was that if you turned it on the water splashed out and soaked you - even after you’ve done that the first time it is easy to forget when you next use the basin! It is also very difficult to prevent the shower in the bath from flooding the floor, so you fetch up with soaked floor towels.||||The bed was not the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in; in fact we had the worst nights sleep we’ve had since I can’t remember when. To some extent that was arguably down to our own lack of forethought, as we were seriously attacked by mosquitos. In the morning I counted some two dozen on the ceiling, the curtains, walls, and just about anywhere an insect could land. We made it a priority to buy some spray and used best part of the can before we left the room next day, and for our second night the room was a mosquito-free zone.||||You can’t really blame the management for being bitten by mosquitos though.
