I stayed for three nights in a single on fifth floor. No elevator, which I was aware of when I booked. Let me point out that I choose hotels not becouse I want to have luxury, but because I want to stay i a genuine part of the city i visit, and Hôtel Juliette delivered on this. The Juliette is located on the north (less touristy) side of Butte Montmarte, with Metro station Chateau Rouge within a short walk. The hotel itself is clean and well cared for by a lovely staff that really made me feel welcome, (and the cat Romeo). My room at the fifth floor of six had a wonderful view over the Sacre Coeur and the north side of Montmarte. It was clean and equipped with a small desk and a sink, and had a small balcony towards the street. Shower and toilet is shared with the other four (I think) rooms on the same floor, and situated right outside in the corridor. Close (very close) to the hotel there was a baker, a cheesemonger (who also hade a selection of artisinal localy produced wines and beers), a charcuterist, a convenient store, a bistro/cafe, a specialised café, a Vietnamese restaurant - all within 50 meters of the hotel. As the hotel is located in an older building you have to be aware that the soundproofing is not perfect, neither from the street nor between the rooms. If you have a problem with this, the Juliette might not be on top of your list. For me, I will...
Read moreWe’re a family of four with children aged 8 and 11, driving home to London from holidays in France. We were a bit apprehensive about driving through central Paris and finding an affordable hotel in Montmartre (where I wanted to stay) but it was all very straightforward and we LOVED hotel Juliette. Lovely staff, lovely rooms, everything spotless and recently redecorated/refurbished. Perfect small simple hotel for an amazing price. Great location with sacre coeur a stones throw away but also lots of lovely local restaurants and cafes on the streets behind too. We had the quadruple room first night which is two rooms (double and twin) with adjoining door and shared bathroom which was perfect for any family or group of friends. It was booked our second night so we moved upstairs to 6th floor to two doubles with views of sacre coeur and cute little balconies. Shared bathroom with one other third room but all very easy and clean and never saw the other room inhabitants! As a small hotel there’s no lift/elevator but the kids enjoyed the typical spiral type staircase and as you’d expect, no air con either but fans available on request which we did need our first night as it had been a very hot day. Can’t recommend this place enough, really hope we’ll be back. Thank you...
Read moreI highly don’t recommend this hotel. The walls are thin as paper so you can literaly hear every voice and step. (Even when the people were whispering, so you could hear every conversation!) It’s super noisy that even a hostel is calmer. You can’t control the heater in the room so it’s super hot in the rooms that we had to always have our window opened so we can breathe. You can also forget about cold water in the basin. It’s only hot water. And if I say hot, I mean HOT that it was burning my hands when washing them. That’s not normal, is it?! They’ll give you only one towel per person. Bathrooms are separated and shared. The toillette is basically on the stairs and super small. Wifi was semi working so for the last 2 days of our stay I was using my data only. And finally.. The last day we woke up and saw water on half of the floor because some pipe burst. Honestly, that was the last drop.
The only positive thing was nice staff and the location of the hotel. But you can find better accommodation for the same price! So if you really want to enjoy Paris and get some sleep, don’t...
