I needed a hotel room close to Gare du Nord for one night only with my child. I didn’t want to pay ££££ for a few hours of sleep. I booked it on the Saturday morning and arrived late in the evening for £50. Bargain. I have rated it 5 stars, not because it’s a “lovely” hotel, but because price/convenience/location/cleanliness factors. ||||It served its purpose perfectly well and the pics were realistic. I had no expectation of this being fancy in any way. It was basic and the bathroom was clean. Water pressure in the shower was good. Bed sheets were clean. There was no AC but there was a fan. It was great to be located so close to the wonderful attractions of Montmartre. The neighborhood was quite cool - very diverse, and you get a sense of a different Paris (eg migrants had set up their own little street market selling nuts and other wares; one guy was cooking kebabs from a shopping trolley - it was fascinating to see!). We didn’t feel unsafe walking back to the hotel at midnight. Sure, it isn’t the prettiest neighbourhood, but it was very conveniently located and

I stayed during renovations and them installing new carpet, the maids were really friendly and kind even though my Metropolitan French is not the best! Same with the front desk staff. It is a smaller hotel so there is no elevator; so lugging up six flights of stairs was fun but not much of a bother.
It was a older hotel, the rooms felt less modern and more of a old world charm and like a old apartment or room in a Parisian home versus a modern hotel. Which I enjoyed. I stayed in a solo room with a shared bathroom. My room had a bed, sink, dresser, night stand, television, desk and chair. It was all I needed as I spent three days mostly out and about before returning home.
The beds were clean, and the sheets had no stains at all. My biggest complaint would be the no elevator; but it is a small and narrow hotel where an elevator can't be installed easily; so it isn't a big one. As well as some noise from other rooms; but it was not terrible at all, it was average for an older hotel.
Overall, I recommend staying here. It was really pleasant, friendly; and they are friendly to primary English speakers [well I spoke English there as I can speak a different dialect of French that is not interchangeable in conversation a...

We came back to the hotel at 6pm/7pm, and then, when we open the door of our room, THERE WAS TWO PERSONS IN OUR ROOM, LYING IN THE BED !!! Yes, THERE WAS TWO PERSONS IN OUR ROOM ! First, I thought I had open a wrong room, then I closed the door (scared) and tried to see what was happening. But no, that was exactly our room. We don't know actually what happened. We talk to the receptionist and - after a big confusion with all the people involved in that strange and bizarre thing - he gave us another room. The receptionist sad he didn't know what happened. We got our bags and went to another room, because we had to stay there (there was no time nether money to find and go to another hotel). I consider it's quite impossible to be an "accident", because we made our check-in 3 hours before the incident (first night). The two persons who were in the room said don't knowing also what are happening, but also apparently didn't bother with our bags wich were visible in the room. So, everything strange in this hotel. I will never...
