Hôtel Montmartre — Hotel in Paris

Long story short||||We are a young couple from Denmark who wanted to enjoy a short vacation in Paris but the Hôtel Montmartre did not live up to our expectations and here are a number of reasons causing the bad experience||||• On the day of arrival we weren’t able to check in to our room before 3 hours later than what we were actually supposed to||||• The hotel room smelled of cigarettes||||• Do not use the private taxi provided by the Hôtel Montmartre! The hotel fooled us to use their private taxi to the airport because they said that all public transportation was on strike, which in fact wasn’t until 2 days later. That meant that we had to pay 8 times as much as we would have used public transportation. ||||• In the airport the private taxi of the hotel demanded that we paid 5 euros extra even though we had come to an agreement about a price with the hotel. So basically, the taxi driver fooled us for 5 euros. We contacted the hotel about this incident after which they called the taxi driver who claimed that he had notified us about the extra 5-euro charge. That is a lie and unfortunately it leaves us with a very bad experience with the Hôtel Montmartre and the private taxi service.||||• We contacted the Hôtel Montmartre afterwards to hear if it was possible to get some compensation for this but they refused.||We’re very sad to make such a bad review but our stay at this Hôtel Montmartre and their treatment of us were simply not okay. Very basic room which didn't bother me too much as I was there for one night for work. || ||However I was given a room RIGHT next to the elevator, and the bed was placed right up against that wall! ALL through the night I could hear "going down, doors opening, doors closing" along with every conversation of those coming in at night and going out in the morning. At around 6/7am it sounded like they were herding cattle down our corridor - I haven't a clue what was going on but it was super busy and loud.||||As if this was bad enough, I also didn't sleep a wink due to the fact the pillows were as comfy as a bag of rocks... ||I have never seen/felt pillows like it, all 4 of them were rock solid with clumps. They were unusable as pillows. Pointless. With the hotel reception being closed at night - I could do nothing but sleep (or not) without them. ||||It would have been a nice touch if you had some tea/coffee facilities in the room - a cup of coffee would not have gone a miss after the night I had.||||I can not fault the cleanliness though - I will give them that and at least the bed itself was comfy..||||So as a conclusion - I wouldn't stay here if you actually want to sleep or get any rest but if you do I would check where your room is in relation to the elevators and also check your pillows before the...
