This is a wonderful place to visit if you have any interest in Outsider Art/Art Brut/Naïve Art/whatever you want to call it. I first visited to see the completely fantastic and mind-blowing exhibition "Raw Vision;25 Ans d'Art Brut" ,and then had a second visit when another show was on. I thought I might be disappointed by this exhibition after being blown away by the crème de la crème of the genre exhibited in the Raw Vision anniversary show, but I needn't have feared as there was a great deal of exciting art in this show too. Both exhibitions were really extensive and of a high standard. I hope to visit many more times to see and EXPERIENCE more brilliant art at Halle St Pierre. The museum/gallery is easy to find as it's right next to Sacre Coeur, and it has a café,and lockers downstairs so you can leave your bags and coats and look around in comfort (put 1 euro in and you get it back when you retrieve your stuff). I love this place and would highly...

My Montmartre introduction. After leaving the Louvre I didn't know what to do next until I saw a bus that said "Montmartre." I jumped on it and the friendly bus driver managed between between our poor language skills to get me on the right connecting bus and at the base of Sacre Coeur. I started walking towards, balked at the steps and noticed Halle Saint-Pierre. I almost did not go into the Raw Vision exhibit but after glancing at the catalog I bought my ticket. What a phenomenal show! This was all mind-blowing cutting edge stuff that almost defies explanation. The works were all personal and totally original. I loved it. The book store was good and I didn't try the cafe....
