Alegrías — Restaurant in Paris

I have to say that while living in and traveling through Europe I am always looking for real Mexican food to help quench the craving of being a native Californian. So it was disappointing to have had such high expectations only to, upon eating, realize that this is yet another example of watering down true Mexican flavor to suit a European palate. So sad, as bold flavors are exactly what you are looking for and expecting when going ordering Mexican food. Presentation was lovely but would have appreciated some cilantro (coriander) or pico de gallo or some kind of salsa. I realize now that what is trying to be accomplished here is a contemporary take on Mexican but in all honesty Mexican food is wonderful...

Delicious! A really creative take on Mexican food with a French twist. Go!

The sauces are delightful. The ceviche comes in this sauce that is so flavorful. The guacamole made from peas is so creative. We loved the mushroom tacos and chicken mole. Nice proportions too. Recommend asking for their spicy hot sauce if you like some heat. The chocolate dessert was delightful and I don’t usually like chocolate.

Margaritas are good. A little sweet for my taste because I like them very citrus forward, so that’s more about my palette.

I went to this beautiful restaurant while I was traveling in Paris even when I knew that is difficult to find good Mexican food outside the country; so I found a beautiful place pretty well decorated with Mexican elements that made me travel to my country. The food was great and delicious, you could travel to Mexico by tasting some of the tacos that that have or any of the other dishes. The drinks were delicious and trying them was an experience itself. Thanks to the Mexican chef for making me fell so proud...
