Perfect rental for a Paris trip! I discovered this place through Hotels.com. It seemed to have some good reviews. Our experience was far greater than what I expected. My family was so ecstatic about this place and its idyllic location. Can’t tell you enough how much we loved this accommodation!
First, it’s very tough to beat the location. It’s a 10-15 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. It’s also in a very quaint Parisian neighborhood filled with lots of small shops and restaurants. It’s also a block away from Rue Cler, the most lovable Parisian street lined with various shops, markets and restaurants.
It’s also apparently very close to a train station. We never used it because I preferred to take an Uber everywhere. The Uber app works great here and there are always plenty of cars. I never had to wait more than 3 to 5 minutes.
The unit was also fantastic. Very spacious and clean, and well furnished. We had a two bedroom unit with two queen sized beds and a pull out sofa bed in the living room. The beds and linens were very comfortable. We slept very well. Even the sofa bed. Perfect for my family of five. The unit also has a small built-in washer dryer, which was handy. Also as an espresso machine, dishwasher and printer in case you need a print anything. The Wi-Fi was reliable.
I saw some reviews complaining about the QR coded door entry. I was a little worried when reading those reviews, but honestly it was so easy and I actually like the concept and wish more places used it!
I also read one review about lost luggage. I can’t see how that would happen unless you were careless. There are no attendants. This place is all self service which was fine honestly.
I like the fact that I could go straight to my room and walk into my unit without having to wait in a long check-in line and complete paperwork or do other things that would delay getting to my room. The process was so seamless and efficient.
Most of the information I needed regarding the room was there waiting for me inside the unit. If I had any questions, I would just email them and they were very responsive.
Again, we were very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay here again.. Would highly...
Read moreAppalling experience. We arrived on Friday morning, While it may be written somewhere on their site, that there is no front desk. In order to get our code access to the building and eventually our room, a deposit amounting to half our stay was required.. Once a code is received, there is a reception in a weird hallway in the basement of the building like a facilities basement. We were greeted by an employee who said we could leave our luggage for the day in a locked luggage room where she was present and monitoring, until our room was ready. We arrived back at 5pm and fumbled with the sometimes working code (four places to code just to get to the room) only to find out that our bags were not in our room. We called some person offsite who said we had to go to the basement to get our bags ourselves...very creepy and uncomfortable. There is no staff from 5pm to support such a huge place, and therefore any hotel resident with a key can access the luggage room and hence anyone else's luggage if they so choose. Once we got our bags, we found in our room, a host of maintenance issues: lights not working in bathroom, cobwebs on the corners of the walls, a broken shower cap/tap, broken plugs, broken USB charging points, broken curtain and a tv which did not work for our entire stay. They sent a maintenance person in on the following day but instead of testing the plugs, they just glued them back on the wall. They also said they tested the TV to make sure the signal was working but after 20 minutes of trying to figure out why it did not work, we found that they hadn't plugged the connector in! Even that did not connect to a network. The only phone number they had was an emergency only number. With some of the problems, we were advised to wait until Monday to fix (we were leaving Sunday). No management in site, poor email communication. This place charges hotel prices for Airbnb service or worse. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND UNDER ANY...
Read moreAll in all, a great stay! I would easily and happily return if I ever travel to Paris again.
-Great location for visitors. It's walking distance to multiple major sites, great eateries, markets, and a Metro stop. And yet, the neighborhood is also chill and quiet.
-Awesome room and room amenities. We splurged a little more on a room with a terrace that had views of the Eiffel Tower. It was great to sit outside at night and watch the Tower light up from your terrace. In addition, the room with a terrace was more like a mid-size apartment with a separate bedroom, living room, and kitchen area with an electric stove, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Awesome for longer stays.
Just be aware, there is no usual 24-hour front desk/hotel concierge service, and access to the hotel and your room relies on a QR code that is issued to you before you arrive and via email. This was initially worrying, but the entire process to get our room key was easy. Just look out for any email communication from My Maison a week or so before you arrive and follow the directions provided.
I'll add that I was traveling with friends also staying at My Maison, who did not receive their pre-arrival registration form and room key from the hotel before they left. (We think it's because they booked their stay through a third-party website.)
That said, as soon as they reach out to the hotel, they got their room key very quickly and it was all resolved by the time we got off our flight and arrived at the hotel. In addition, there is some front desk staffing at the hotel during the day, who I'm sure would have been able to help.
So, just something to be aware of if you haven't received any communication from the hotel immediately before you arrive and you are expecting a...
