We are Rick Steves fans and have been following his recommendations for 20 years when travelling to Europe. He recommended this hotel and we were interested in staying near the Eiffel Tower so it was perfectly suited for us.
We were in Paris over a weekend on a 2-week tour of universities in Spain, France, The Netherlands and Belgium with our son.
First a word about the staff. They were absolutely superb. Everyone we met was friendly, gracious, helpful and professional. We talked with one of the night managers (unfortunately did not get his name and he was absolutely delightful and helpful). The hotel was perfect, but the staff was so wonderful that this is our new 'go-to' hotel for any future trips to Paris.
The room was setup as a Queen bed and single. Room was spotless! Linens were crisp and beds were ultra-comfortable. Double sinks in the bathroom made it easy for two of us to get ready at the same time, and the water pressure in the shower was superb.
We were pleasantly surprised that the size of the room as we had become used to smaller rooms in our previous trips - so this was a joy to have a bit of extra room to spread-out.
The breakfast each morning was a typical European breakfast with a variety of fruits, yogurt, croissants, breads & rolls, juices, ham & cheeses which we've come to expect when travelling. The food was VERY good and perfect to get our day started.
We can't say enough wonderful things about both the physical spaces and the staff. Absolutely wonderful experience and highly-recommended to any Paris-bound...
Read moreI stayed there for 1 night with my elderly mother. She wanted to rate 3 stars, and I’ll go with 3 as well.
I booked this place in a rush after our original accommodation turned out to be an utter disappointment. The check-in process did not go smoothly because for whatever reason their system didn’t accept my card originally used to make the booking on their website. After going around with 4 other cards, eventually the original card worked.
That was that.
The room itself was rather small and the bathroom with a bathtub even smaller. The toilet seat was dirty when we checked in. I reported to the reception and the guy there immediately jumped into action and tried to clean it himself in the lack of any cleaning staff. Apparently it was the last available room so could not be swapped. Pressed on time with only 1 night in the city and the evening settling in, we did not really have the luxury to look for another place. Ended up using the toilet with a layer of toilet paper on the seat and trying not to sit…
At check-out the lady was kind enough to offer breakfast as compensation for the troubles, which we politely declined because it didn’t suit us.
The bed itself was fine to sleep in and the location of the hotel, just minutes from the Eiffel Tower, is pretty decent. There is a small but cosy lobby area up front.
All-in-all, even though the staff tried to rectify the experience, factoring in the room size (especially the tiny bathroom), I sadly can’t give more than 3 stars, also considering my...
Read moreTo all my American Friends who is trying to decide if this hotel is the best way to go on Expedia
Good : Location is close to all the major tourist attractions like Eiffel Tower, River Seine, Louvre Museum. Break fast was included in my booking. However it was the same food for 4 days. The server was polite/attentive. Bad : The elevator was not working. We had a room on the 3rd floor. If you are some one with a knee problem/out of shape that will be a challenge to go back and forth. Front desk receptionist did help bring the bags upstairs that helped. This was my 1st time staying in a hotel room in Paris so I cannot comment on the size of the room however for a guy who had many hotel stays in US this is definitely similar to a motel sized. The main thing that ticked me off was when I booked the hotel via Expedia they stated the “booking reflected arrival time”. I had contacted the hotel via message who stated there will be a room ready for us. However when I arrived to the hotel after an 8 hour trip only to find out that it was not ready. The front desk staff especially the 2 guys were helpful. However the lady with glasses tried to rip me off with the adapter I purchased from them. I had paid for the adapter however she was going to charge me 30 Euros if I hadn’t had the receipt. Luckily I saved the receipt then she charged me 15 Euros as city tax. Above is just my experience /opinion. It could have been worse /better. I do appreciate Paris and is planning to visit again however I would not...
