5 Stars! Words can’t explain such a phenomenal gem. This hotel didn’t receive 5 stars, they earned them. We felt like special individual guests from the time we checked in until the moment we left. We arrived quiet early and the hotel was ready to store our bags while we explored the city. The room wasn’t quite ready and we didn’t expect it to be but the front desk staff completed the check in process so we only had to pick up the key later in the day. When we returned in the afternoon to do so, a gentleman showed us to our room, explained the amenities of the hotel, and ensured we knew the staff was ready and willing to assist in any way they could. Very personalized service. Our bags were waiting for us in the room. We stayed in a traditional room. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The room is clean and quiet. The hotel location is right on a pedestrian only square in the city centre. Convenient location to walk around town exploring. Many of the streets are pedestrian only so it’s safe and fun. You won’t need a car to explore Rouen once you’re parked. Restaurants, patisserie, church and shops all within 1 minute walking distance. The hotel pool is very unique with large skylights above the pool looking into the bar. You can see up but the bar patrons and day visitors can’t see down too easily being that the bar is well lit. Very cool and unique concept. Large enough pool to stretch out your arms and legs with short laps after a long day of walking. The dry sauna and steam sauna are both relaxing. Dry can comfortably fit 6 while steam sauna can fit 15-20. Steam sauna has dark black tiles with gold accents and star-like lights on the ceilings meaning it is fairly dark. Very relaxing. We didn’t utilize the gym but you must walk through it to get to the pool. It appears to be well suited for a good workout with modern clean weight lifting and aerobic equipment. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. It is a true gem and I will highly recommend it to any family and friends traveling to Rouen. Thank you for our most special stay during out...
Read moreWe came to Rouen for a funeral and decided to pick a "5 star" hotel in an attempt to lift our spirits even though the price was a almost 400€ for the night which is a staggering sum for Rouen in the middle of January. This was a mistake and I implore all of you to save your money and go elsewhere. The room was very aesthetic, being the largest one they have, but don't expect any type of view out of your window. The Tv in the room is a very old 42" LG tv from 2010 (we are in 2025). It's not a smart tv and there were only the most basic of french tv channels. We called the front desk in hopes they could at least give us an HDMI cable to connect to our laptop, but of course they don't have one. Let's skip over the enormous insect we encountered in the 2nd floor hallway and go straight to our food experience. They have a "restaurant" on premises "L'Aumale" that was completely empty (you'll understand why soon) so we decided to have room service that comes from the same menu/kitchen. Some options on the menu were greyed out so we choose very simple meals: filet mignon and chicken with a side cheese plate. They had to call the room back a couple off times to say they had to make substitutions which seemed very odd for a "5 star" hotel. I was finally relieved to get our food which we expected that we would enjoy watching our small laptop screen. Relieved until I tried to cut and chew the filet. It was very fatty and extremely chewy. Two bites put me off the entire dish. The chicken dish was very dry so we didn't eat that either. Thank goodness we ordered the cheese plate or else we would have had no food (for 80€+). Pick another place. We could have picked any other place for 200€ less and ordered out from one of the shops and had a much...
