Very disappointed with the service in this hotel. We are staying here for nearly two weeks and the staff at the reception is quite rude when we have an issue like not enough water bottles in the room (they gave us two instead of 4 when we are two adults and two children); phone not working; very small duvet to share for two children; .The children sleeping on the sofa bed have only one very narrow duvet to share and we asked for a second one but the next day it was removed. Our phone in the room does not work therefore we couldn’t call the reception. There is a loud ventilation sound coming from the bathroom which started on the second day. It doesn’t appear to be the A/C as it does not work either. Camille at the reception is very pleasant and polite, so is Yassin. But the rest of the team at the reception is quite rude and instead of telling us they will find a solution or apologize for the mistakes made by the cleaning ladies or issues we have had in the room they decide to argue with us and they say this is your version I don’t have the one of the staff. This type of attitude coming from a manager is even more disappointing. Not professional at all and makes us feel uncomfortable. A manager should not argue with customers but instead make them feel welcomed, safe and understood.||The lady in charge at the restaurant in the evening was having a go at the waiters in front of us customers and laughing out loud at their mistakes, sighing in dispair at them. All in front of us. Very very unprofessional. Two of these waiters, very polite and kind to us seemed to be learning and were doing well it seemed, at least they were professional and polite, unlike their supervisor who was diminishing them in fromt of people. Really put us off our meal.||One receptionist, a young woman, who did help us with our duvet issue, hardly greeted us when we entered the hotel in the evening. This is a 4 star hotel and very surprising behavior from the staff. She also made the entire reception stink of what seemed to be a humidity issue with clothes. I told her about the smell, unpleasant when you enter the hotel, without realizing the odor actually came from her. She is human but it shouldn’t really happen in a 4 star hotel, when you welcome clients.||This morning the actual manager told me his colleague at the reception did not have time to tell me to see my issues with him as she had many other customers to deal with. She could have politely told me, Madam I don’t have to capacity to help you now but I will make sure the manager reaches out to you. This is high season, so there should be more than one person at the reception or at least have the clients directed to the manager immediately for these kind of situations instead of rebuffed rudely. ||When I asked to have the contact of the direction of the hotel, the manager told me and that after shouting at me down the phone and arguing with me, that he could not provide me with that information and I should write to him instead and he would transmit my feedback to the direction. I had lost all trust in this « manager » by that point and had no reason teh believe he would actually transfer my email to the direction.||Very disappointing and upstet and makes us wonder how the rest of our stay is going to be with reception personal acting so...
Read moreThe hotel itself as a building is wonderful, splotlessy clean and prefectly kept.||HOWEVER, the hotel management is terribly poor and only caring for money. People working at the hotel are on the same wavelenght: despite their young age and their status, they are all behaving like arrogant billionaires (that they are not).||Result: poor service (? which service?) and nasty ambiance.||A few examples, just to wet your appetite: 1) the hotel refused to apply the family fare (2nd room at -50%) because of a 'computer problem'; clearly, they did not offer any compensation, not even a free breakfast or drink for the almost 100 € I had to pay with respect to the discounted fare; 2) because of an electrical problem, our car was stuck in their internal garage on a Sunday, and I had to call an emergency service. We kindly asked to keep one ONLY of the two rooms for an extra hour (until 13:00 instead of 12:00) while waiting with our two kids for the tow truck. The nice reply from the 20 y.o. lady receptionist was "We are fully booked. If you are not out within five minutes, I will have your luggage being thrown out of the rooms. But I would not mind if the four of you sit at the outside tables of the hotel, even if your stay is over". Please allow me not to refer what I replied. It is clear that the cleaners could not clean all the hundreds rooms at the same time and that allowing us to stay for one hour more would have been a simple courtesy. But no. Kindness brings no money.||To summarise: the hotel is fine as long as you go for one night and you treat them as the animals they are. If you plan to enjoy your stay, better choose a less beautiful hotel but with human beings. These people are fake and...
Read moreIt's clear that the guest review system at this hotel might not be an accurate representation. There's a concerning emphasis on ratings, with hints that staff might be financially impacted based on them, raising questions about its fairness. Offering constructive feedback seems to be met with resistance, if not outright hostility, rather than understanding.
Though the rating might suggest top-tier service, this Novotel aligns more with a middle-of-the-road hotel experience. It's unfortunate when ratings overshadow genuine quality, especially when other hotels provide equal or superior service, reflecting the true spirit of Novotel’s brand as premium yet approachable.
Breakfast meets expectations, but the in-house dining seems a touch expensive for its offerings. The plethora of regulations, from credit card pre-authorizations to strict timing rules and a not-so-child-friendly environment, detracts from the guest experience.
The interior design, although bold and mostly cohesive, may not resonate with all guests. Sleep quality is enhanced by the comfortable bedding. Yet, the absence of certain amenities, even for elite members, is noticeable. This is evident in the limited provision of essentials and an undersized, not-so-warm pool with restrictive access.
Lastly, while unrelated to the hotel, the town doesn’t stand out in terms of attractions.
In a nutshell, this Novotel has its merits, but the overall guest experience leaves room for...
