Between the 20th and 23rd, I checked into a room at the Rest and Family Campus Hotel. About 15 minutes after check-in, a staff member came in to explain that someone was smoking in the room. I admitted my mistake, saying my friend was smoking by the window. Two staff members then became aggressive and rude, demanding I pack my things and leave the hotel immediately. They threatened to call the police and said I would have to pay a fine. I was somewhat surprised by this incident. I immediately admitted my mistake, saying that my friend was responsible for the smoking. Undoubtedly, it was our fault. Two employees stood at the door, gesturing and verbally urging me to leave immediately or they would call the police. Another person said I had to pay a cash fine. I was somewhat disappointed. (I am an experienced travel expert who has stayed in hotels all over the world and has a professional ability to discern the quality of service and management.) I was familiar with the hotel's smoking policy; this was just a fine and a warning. However, demanding that guests leave the hotel immediately and not allowing other visitors to enter to discuss appointments is unreasonable and has no legal basis. I went to the hotel front desk to negotiate with the hotel, and I had to accept various demands they made. I eventually accepted a €50 fine and had my travel bookings for the next 15 days cancelled. I had to leave on the 23rd, and my bookings from the 23rd to the 8th were cancelled. But throughout, I experienced discrimination and verbal abuse. Similar incidents happened several times. Once, five minutes after I checked into the hotel, a staff member came in and demanded a fine, saying I was smoking. They said I had to pay a €150 fine or leave the hotel. In reality, I wasn't smoking at all. I fully understand that this is discrimination and extortion. In the end, I had no choice but to accept it. Such behavior is actually a common practice in Paris, France, until I complained and reported this situation. I can't find any of my booking records or travel information in my Agoda app; it has been automatically deleted by the platform. This is very shocking and disappointing. If you prefer minimalist or spartan conditions for premium price, this hotel is for you. I stayed here for 6 weeks, and clearly overpaid, as for longer stays they charge by 2-week periods, no matter how many days of the last 2-week period you would actually stay. Service-wise, much remains to be desired. Wi-Fi was terribly weak, soap/dishwashing detergent dispensers stayed empty for weeks on end, weekly housekeeping was done very inconsistently, both not on schedule and sometimes only partially. While the reception staff were courteous during personal interaction, my remarks about amenity deficiencies often fell on deaf ears. Then, there are no curtains or blinds on the windows, ensuring no privacy for the occupant, unless you prefer to close the tight outdoor shutters, but then windows become useless for light or ventilation. The central location and the new construction of the building are about the only two clear positives about this place. Unless you prefer a mostly empty, grey and overpriced box, I would recommend staying away from this hotel.

Beware this place is a money fraud. You reserve your room on booking.com and you pay for it. When you show up people in the reception suddenly tells you they need to take a deposit of 85 euros. They say you'll be refunded when you checkout but you never see your deposit again. I have tried everything to get my deposit back nothing worked. They claim they refunded it my bank said they never refunded the money. When I contacted the property they said they can send me a proof of refund and they never sent it.
