MOB,
we normally don’t review even if the service was mid, but what the hell just happened???
we stayed at your house for two weeks, first in the smallest unit then upgraded to a suite. we are voyagers with limited funds, so we were excited to stay at a place that prides itself on supporting “nomadic entrepreneurs”. our experience was the opposite. we regret spending our time, energy, and safety at a place where we were micromanaged, lied to, and overcharged for undelivered services.
first, we hadn’t slept in a bed for weeks, so when breakfast was offered and included during our stay, we felt a sense of warmth. after our first night, they called us down to the kitchen and told us that breakfast was a mistake. so they removed their offer for the rest of our stay, in front of the breakfast buffet, located on the first floor which we walk thru everyday.
second, we were not informed about parking fees. and they charged us 500€. this is charging us for an extra week of parking that we did not use. further, they forced us down from our room, in the middle of the night, in front of everyone, and demanded payment.
third, we never asked for house cleaning but the supervisor came and told us we had to. we have had terrible experiences with house cleaning staff stealing from us, so you can understand why we did not want it. but she did not care.
fourth, the day before we left the hotel, all the fees they didn’t inform us about was demanded from us. they took our cards and cash and charged at the same time, leaving us with nothing. then they called the police to arrest us. while they were waiting for the police, two older staff members forced our door open, and threatened us with scissors. we really couldn’t believe this, we thought they were filming a movie or something. after the police arrested us, they took us in handcuffs to the police station. they did not charge us with anything, because we did not do anything wrong. and they just let us go, and even chauffeured us back to the hotel. when we arrived, the director told us sarcastically that this is was called “parenting”. this is the most chaotic drama experience we have ever had, in this life and all of our past lives, and probably even our future lives.
fifth, the next morning, they called the police again to kick us out. we felt really bad for the police because MOB made the police feel like they have nothing better to do than arrest us. so we had to pack all of our things in 20 minutes. even though the police helped us pack, it wasn’t enough time to get everything. we were so scared to even think clearly. so we left a lot of things, books to fashion stuff to music production gear.
sixth, we emailed MOB to get our stuff back and the supervisor told us that they discarded everything because we didn’t tell them we wanted it before leaving. so we went back to MOB and found a few of our books lying around their lobby. where’s our other more valuable books, like the original print of Little Prince? where’s our synthesizers? our keyboards? where’s our shoes? where’s our sunglasses? and why are they lying??
some of you reading this may think that you can take our stuff because we didn’t “inform” you, but you clearly kept some things for the hotel and others for yourself. stop bullshitting and give our stuff back.
lastly, on our last night after returning from the police station, we asked if there was anything to eat. they took all of our money so we were starving. the director said “no there is nothing” and laughed. and just left.
that is our experience. i hope this will help you guys make the right choice if you guys care about humanity, instead of money money money and money. mob house of thieves and sarcasm.
BUT, it is very important to shout out the curly brown-haired down to his shoulders, with black-framed glasses working the reception desk who listens to ricardo villalobos (yo email us, we want to hang out with you), he only was nice. we thought MOB HOUSE would be great because he was the first person we engaged with when we...
Read moreWe visited this hotel for a few days as part of a package booked for myself, my wife and my teenage daughter with EasyJet Holidays. I was a little bit concerned about the location but was really happy with how the hotel looked so I took the chance. It is a little bit out of the city centre, but the Metro station at Garibaldi is just 5-10 mins walk away and only a few stops away from some of the main Metro network interchanges to get pretty much anywhere you want fairly quickly. So it wasn’t an issue. There are some decent places in the vicinity of the Metro station and on the walk up to the hotel to get food and drink. We booked room only because we like just going to a boulangerie and getting some breakfast pastries or sandwiches with a coffee for while we travel to our destinations. ||The hotel is very modern and has a certain very cool vibe about it.. rooms, bar and reception area all included.. and unfortunately that vibe seems to spread to the bar staff too who seemed to be so cool they just ignored people standing waiting to get served. My wife and I stood at the bar on our first full night for about 5 minutes without the barman even acknowledging we were there.. he was far too busy making sure glasses were lined up symmetrically on the shelf on the back bar. We saw other people going round to the other side of the bar and they seemed to get attention, so we followed suit and a floating waitress on our side of the bar approached us and we told her we just want a couple of drinks. She said to take a seat.. I asked if we could sit in the lounge area of reception which she said we could, she would bring us a menu and then take our order.. we didn’t need a menu as we knew what we wanted, but thought it will bring her to us so never argued with her. We took a minute or 2 to choose where we wanted to sit.. then we sat down and waited.. and waited… and waited and she never came anywhere near us. Every time I looked over she looked like she was wayyy too busy.. but doing what I don’t know.. as there were only about 4 or 5 tables of customers sitting in the bar and another 2 or 3 members of bar and restaurant waiting staff were on too. I kept looking over to try and draw her attention but never managed to do that.. and after 15 minutes we gave up and went up to our room to drink a nice bottle of wine that we’d bought from a nearby supermarket that cost less than one glass of the wine we were going to buy from the bar. I don’t know if the hotel are paying them extremely high salaries.. as they certainly don’t seem to be trying to work for tips or to please the customers. I never saw the bar busy the whole time I was there and maybe this is the reason why. And the reason I’m focussing my anger at being treated like this is because I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and it really riles me when customers are not shown the importance and respect that every single person who stands at or approaches that bar deserves. We never went near the bar again for the duration of our stay.. we walked past the fairly quiet bar every night after returning from a days sightseeing to head up to our very comfortable room to enjoy a few drinks while watching something on our iPad. So they’ll never know how much we’d have spent at the bar or how much we’d have tipped them after it.||Would I stay at the hotel again.. absolutely.. would I recommend it to anyone I know.. Yes… the value for money of the stay at the hotel was great for the family sized suites. The area was ok too. Would I drink at the bar.. Well…. I’d need to see some sign that the staff are interested.. hopefully the management will see this review and let the bar staff know how disappointed a fellow hospitality industry worker was with the lack of respect and service given. And from reading other reviews I don’t think I’m alone in finding this about...
Read moreI'd read lots of mixed reviews for the Mob House so I wasn't sure what to expect however I was hopeful that maybe it had been a mix of the busy time whilst the Olympics were on and teething issues being so new, however I think the whole thing is just very average. |Check in was fine, the location is fine (despite some moans about the surrounding areas) the gentleman on reception was very pleasant. I knew all about the city taxes and the pre-auth from reading other reviews so I wasn't shocked by this. I requested anti allergenic which I got however that was the extent of me feeling like the hotel really did anything for me. Everything was just...okay. The setting was nice, it's quirky and it has it's own style. The bar looked nice, but I probably got more smiles from other guests than I did from staff.|We stayed for 3 nights over the weekend from Friday - Monday and the plan was to be out most of the time and that the place we chose to rest, after a busy day of walking and sightseeing, was comfortable. Did it do that... yes, but I wonder where else I could have stayed and gotten that with maybe a bit more charisma...||The beds were comfortable however not really practical, the layout is different and again I wasn't opposed to that, I just wasn't sure it was the best use of space. ||The room is hot and the air con wasn't working, so we kept the window open but the streets are loud from 6 onwards. The next night we kept it shut and just put up with the heat, it's not unbearable it's just not extremely comfortable.||Aside from the toilet light and the 2 behind the bed, the room lights are all on one circuit so you have to turn them all on just to use the shower with a light - which you need to do because it's a tiny cubicle built in to the wall. So whilst my partner was sleeping and I didn't want to wake him I had to leave the door open to see what I was doing which just made the floor wet.|| It just seems like it's trying to be different and stylish when really it could just be simple. ||They offer what appears to be a mini fridge in the room with some water- that isn't cold so it's just a cupboard really.||The bar was advertised as being open until midnight (clearly stated in the hotel information that you find in the room) yet you turn up at 11.45 and it's 'closed'. It's just lots of little things that build up and start to annoy you.||We didn't eat breakfast as we thought we should eat at some of Paris's amazing bakeries, which we did and there is one right across the street. I'm sure it might have been nice, but again, I'm sure it would have been expensive and not the quality it says it should be. ||One night we did manage a drink at the bar and again I appreciate it's a hotel bar but 2 whiskies were nearly 50 euros and although they offer cocktails on their menu they can't provide you with any of the classics. ||All in all, it's okay. It's nothing to write home about, I probably wouldn't stay again and I probably wouldn't recommend. We had a good deal on hotels.com for the price however you really don't get 4 Star Vibe so I'm not sure if...
