Riverside Toulouse (Harmony) — Hotel in Toulouse

While Antoine attempted to be very helpful with our stay he was not. He is very defensive and tends to blame anything that goes wrong on the person (s) leasing the apartment. We did not arrive until after sunset and by cab. Upon arrival we discovered that the entry instructions were written for a motorist. We had to walk 200 meters to a different location, enter the code for a locked gate, retrieve a key from a mailbox, return to the apartment, unlock the entry gate, find a mailbox, unlock a second set of keys, and only then could we enter the apartment. A bit of a nightmare.

We then discovered and open freezer door with a freezer completely frosted over with what melted into 5 litres of water. The advertised washer/drying was taped shut with a do not use sign prominently saying it was broken and unusable. There were no instructions for the appliances, no welcoming items such as water, spices, coffee, services, paper towels, or dish detergent. The bath towels were of poor quality and there was minimal soap. No trash can liners were available, no shopping bags, and sightseeing literature was last years. In essence, the apartment was not rentable. As a former rental property owner, I found this unacceptable. The apartment was nicely furnished, in a good location, and reasonably clean. It is spacious for two, but maintenance was substandard. Antoine will respond with an attempt to portray all problems as the renters fault. He is overly defensive and quick to point a finger back at the rentor. Don't permit this - the problems are his.

First of all it’s not a hotel, it’s just a airbnb-liked homestay style guesthouse. There isn’t any kind of service provided and even they left a lot notices everywhere to remind you need to bring out everything with you not to leave any trash in the dustbin. It’s self check-in with lockbox and they only provide the info on the morning of your arrival. No flexibility on early checkin or baggage drop. Their website shows they plaice discount for nearby restaurants but in reality there isn’t any. Unfortunately the rental company responsible for this apartment (Riverside Toulouse) is extremely unethical and has complete disregard for their clients. I strongly recommend staying away as they may try to jerk you around as well for their own profit. Don't be surprised if after booking at their advertised prices, they cancel once they realize they can get more money, jack up their prices by $100 per night, and then expect you to rebook. What a...
